I own an '05 M7 that my wife rides. It has been a great sled for us. Problem free nice amount of power for a beginner rider. I'm not a Cat guy myself but there are lots of good deals out there on the M series. I wouldn't be afraid of an M8 used if I was looking. I wouldn't be afraid of any Doo...
You need to open up the back side of the plug in and you can get in with a tiny flat screw driver to lift up and release the wires from inside the connector. I found it tricky the first time but once you do it once it's a breeze
My family back in Melfort say the snow is good around there this year. I haven't been back to see for myself but there is usually good riding around there.
Rode with a guy from Golden named Stu a few times over the years, he's in his late 70's. At the time he was still going out like 100 days a year. Pretty cool guy, he was my buddies grandpa's friend for years.
My '08 had adjustable needles also. I had it on middle position with .030 shim if I remember right. On an 860 it was right on the edge of lean according to my egt gauge
I'm pretty sure the good quality bore scopes are intrinsically safe. Natural gas mechanics use them on all sorts of stuff and I haven't heard of any of them blowing up yet. Maybe their just lucky though, I don't know for sure
I have one that I bought used off my buddy. I think it's great. Full size bag and I fit pretty much everything I need in it. The best part is having all the weight out of my back pack now.
Cut a hole in your hood directly above the can then mount it upside down kinda like a mini truck stack and it will blast the noise straight into your face. If that's not enough try the same stack idea only build your own straight pipe. You could even weld on a fancy chrome tip for a little bling...
I have heard this complaint about him at least a dozen times since I started reading sledding forums. Its a real shame that there is vendors in our sport that conduct business this way.
I have one and its been good so far. It is a bit light so you have to layer up good to stay warm is my only real complaint. I have used it 7 days so far this year
I have Firestone bags, they seem to be doing the job just fine. I hard lined mine in with 3/8'' stainless tubing and Swagelok fittings. I have the Schrader valves going through the license plate mounting holes. Install looks very sharp and im pretty sure I wont have any leak issues
