I ride with with a guy that wears one. He says it's unlikely that he would get it into his mouth while tumbling in an avalanche but he figures it doesn't hurt to have every tool at your disposal.

the best riders are usually the best because they aren't afraid to get stuck being able to get out efficiently is very important and only one way to get good at it.

Is this your first sled? first trip to the mountains? I do a lot of trips on week days so its good to have people to split fuel :-)

trail can be a little dicey with the ice but its a short trail with all types of terrain to ride in. probably best place to ride with newbies

its only used for the back deck so it works well. way better than shovelling, at least thats what she says!
