That's about as greedy as you can get. Is the city of Edmonton that broke? Maybe they should stop blowing money on pet projects; especially the artsy fartsy ones.

calgary spent over 400000 on a steel ring that lights up and 25 million on a bridge that had to be rebuilt because the designer did wrong

Ugh...I live in a county that can't even get an intersection done correctly so they re-do it over,..and over, and over, and it's still killing people.
How about the "wind chimes" that never actually worked on the south east corner of Jasper and 109. Brutal. Glad I'm not paying taxes in that city.

Which intersection is that?. I thought the Parkland County Administration was always right. They came out to Mayatan Lake where I used to live in Mid May one year. Someone had complained that I put a rink up in the lake with square hay bales for benches during the winter. The county mounties actually came out to investigate it. In mid May! Nice use of tax payer $$$

There's nothing wrong with that intersection. There wasn't before the last two times they fixed it. Stupidity is what's killing people there.

So a while back someone said they fought one of the henday photo radar tickets and won because it is illegal to park on a bridge so i looked it up and sure as s**t it there in the alberta traffic safety act
Parking restrictions
44 A person driving a vehicle shall not, unless
(a) required or permitted by the Act, this Regulation or by a
traffic control device,
(b) in compliance with a direction given by a peace officer, or
(c) to avoid conflict with other traffic,
stop or park the vehicle at the following locations:
(d) on a sidewalk or boulevard;
(e) on a crosswalk or on any part of a crosswalk;
(f) within an intersection other than immediately next to the
curb in a “T” intersection;
(g) at an intersection nearer than 5 metres to the projection of
the corner property line immediately ahead or
immediately to the rear, except when the vehicle is parked
in a space where a parking meter or other traffic control
device indicates parking is permitted;
(m) on any bridge or in any subway or on the approaches to
either of them;

that's some handy knowledge.... I hate the fact that they use it on the freeways and highways. I support photo radar 100% used in school zones, bus lane infractions, and can even deal with high collision locations but over the yellowhead on the henday or along the whitemud just proves it is nothing more than a cash cow. I have yet to see a collision on the yellowhead just past the henday overpass where they sit daily. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they cause accidents in those locations because people are hitting the binders screwing with the flow of traffic.

they could easily argue that they had direction from a pace officer or from a governing body

Should have called 911 and reported a possible drunk dangerous driver. As for the cash cow program, it is a program to employ the unemployable for the functional dullards and dolts. It keeps them busy and occupied so they dont stand outside school yards staring at the children. (Just my opinion.)
