Thanks for the info! Any idea what kind of power you are shooting for on your pump gas kit on the 858 while still trying to make it last a few seasons?
I struggled for two season, was exploding belts at will. Finally had some help from a buddy and installed the old clutches and never looked back, belt temps are way down and I've been on one belt for the last two seasons. Some guys have luck with the stock clutches, I was not one of them.
Are you running a tune? If so throw some old clutches on that beast while your at it, all three of us in our group are running the old style and they work much better. Likely the reason that stub shaft was knocked inwards is from blowing a belt or two.
If this new chassis works as good as they say it does all arctic cat has to do is have it hold together and I would be sold. The pile of stop rides and recalls on the Polaris is a joke and the Doo works great but not a fan of the look of it at all. With the way part shortages have been I would...
Money poorly spent and saving money? This is sledding lol but seriously there has to be some gain to losing all that weight and only having to turn a 1/4 or less of that weight with a belt drive, I sure noticed it on my sled. Maybe each sled chassis responds a bit different to the belt drive...
I installed a belt drive on my sled and besides the 15lbs of weight I dropped the response and less maintenance is worth it. If I was buying a G5 (best sled out there right now ;)) I would probably be throwing a belt drive in it first thing even if it was just for the weight and trouble free...
First one was racing down a whooped out trail with too much weight on it (real smart) and the second one I came off the back and clipped it with my leg, I was surprised that bent it.
Ya I agree the bumper should wrap around the top of the tunnel on these chassis, the tunnel cap is weak, especially by the drop down brackets, the first time I bent it I added the beefed up cr racing drop brackets and some big rivets. The last bumper I had on it was weak.
I bent two rear tunnel sections and bumpers in the last two seasons, I run a 162 with a 153 tunnel extension and bumper. Gotta find something stronger for this season.
I have the mx4 as well, went with a surron last season at the lake just because I cant get away with much noise out there. The surron was great but sold it for the new talaria mx4 and the mx4 has more power for sure. Met a guy the other day that had a KO controller and bypassed the battery and...
Love it out there, try to spend every free minute I can at the Lakehouse. Got a couple lake rockets last winter and rode the lake and trails, stopping at the darwell pub on a sled is always a good time. Some crazy storms over the last week though, even blew some dock sections off and I heard...
I bought a surron last year for the lake to rip around with my kid, cant be riding the 450 out there because of the noise. I sold it and upgraded to the Talaria sting R this year (a bit more power) and it is so fun, no noise at all. I cruise around sherwood park too and haven't got caught yet lol
