I wouldn’t sweat it not riding a turbo, most of my friends are on turbos some have went back to NA’s a couple of those guys that went back would be in top shelf category as a rider. From 1986 to 2007 I rode a mod fancooled which was about half the HP as the guys I rode with,I’m betting I had more...
If memory is correct 93 Indy Lite GT $3600 and a used 488 Fancooled engine was $1500.Once transplant was complete Jim Kuster modded 488 and with 165 lbs compression and burning race gas all the great exploring days began.Good times and great memories!
They have the technology to build a killer 2 stroke turbo or non turbo 2 stroke, there old 700 triples were a great engine and the old 485 fancooled were no slouch ethier back in the day.
In the spring of the late 90’s we were heading down Kinbasket Lake on our quest to ride untouched terrain, the shaded sections of the log road had fairly deep snow and were struggling to get through. There was 2 pickups with decks with the lead truck going back and forth to break a trail...
I think there was a old chained up grader parked in that area, there was 4 guys went over the edge with crewcab and 4 place inclosed, all survived but iron was a mess I heard.
Been a long time for me,if I remember correctly we drove in about 50-60 km with truck.Last time I was there was April of 2008,got caught in a slide back in the Prattle approximately 30km from Chatter lodge.First and only time I was at 10000ft. on a sled.
I believe there’s been some major changes to Airbnb in BC as of May 2024,don’t know all the details but may affect us sledders this coming winter with it being banned in some areas.
Thanks Pete,it’s the real ticket and have been asked to custom build these but don’t have time.I find it especially handy on the trail to shovel chunks of snow on top of track then inch sled forward to crush chunk against exchanger when scratchers won’t cut it.Not every trail is conducive for...
Zero issues with Shovel or Saw icing, empty LINQ bracket for gas can ices up but chips out easy at end of the day.
There’s a huge advantage having a larger shovel on the tunnel, big thing is your back pack never needs removing to get at what I call a teaspoon in comparison for a shovel which most...
Two of us rode Owls on April 10 parked at 8 km and unloaded in the snow.Surprised there were no tracks just the odd deep trenched spots were visible. The snow varied from 6” to 18” depending where wind moved it,probed 2 different spots in the trees just over 7’ 🙂
I don’t have a lot experience with warranties other than my 19 Summit X which the compression was monitored by the dealer 3 different times over 24 months prior to installing new top end.Compression was dropping over time and at under 90 psi they came good with new cylinders and pistons.Never...
That’s unfortunate they don’t have 4th year on BEST,I didn’t think there were much warranty claims on those models. All the turbo’s I ride with have seemed pretty good, only one young guy in group was warranted secondary clutch and 2 belts,he could nearly leave his skis at the truck as he’s on...
