As you saw in the video I sent you from last weekends ride; I was letting off and getting right back on the gas multiple times when climbing and my sled pulled the front end right back up and jumped right back to 8000 RPM and held it. Tried all day on different hills and it never missed a beat...
To keep it simple just focus on the pivot bolt if you aren't a "clutch guy". Grab the pivot weight kit and add/remove to get the RPM where you want it on the clicker you prefer to run on. https://www.ibackshift.com/product/ski-doo-pdrive-pivot-weight-spacers/
You are a wild man Randy. We hit Lucielle on Monday. Not great as we were expecting alot more after all the winter storm warnings. But had a fun bluebird day. About 14-18" of fresh and only about 6 riders in there. We had the place to ourselves for about 2 hours. I enjoy just going for a rip...
I have 509 bibs and jacket. I have really liked them. Don't get out as much as most guys anymore. But I haven't be disappointed after wearing Klim gear for 20 years prior. I still do wear Klim gloves most of the time though. And went to a CKX Titan helmet.
Alot of that is in how each sled is set up. A well clutched whatever with the suspension set up properly that is properly maintained will have an advantage over anything else that just gets loaded up at a dealer and ridden as it was delivered. There is also some rider skill involved in climbing...
I'm older than Maxwell and can second that a turbo helps me get to the places my son and the other silly tree riders like to play while I drive around and warm up my lunch and keep an eye on all of them. Couldn't justify a Gen 5 though. Doesn't matter which brand it is; a turbo keeps things...
That was something I have been wondering. I pull panels and have a look for leaks, check levels, clean clutch faces, scrub the belt, check suspension bolts after every ride. When Matt is riding every day and up all night editing videos when can there be time to do any maintenance on his sleds??
Went into Lucielle yesterday. Snow was ok. But the trail was absolutely immaculate. Could have rode up and back down drinking coffee from an open cup without spilling a drop. Did hear chatter in the hot tub last night of the Renshaw trail being a test of willpower getting in and out though.
Thinking of making a quick trip this weekend. Likely head into Lucille as the Renshaw trail is a long way when it’s rough. Still have memories of that trail before it was ever groomed.
