I have an 11 M8. Have a Bikeman torsional secondary, goldstar adjustable weights and an MBRP can. This has been my spare sled for a few years now but had to ride it last day last season in Revy. It had a bog if you tried to take off slow and easy but if you just pinned it it would get through...
All very good points on these sleds. I've relocated relays and have never had any problems caused by them (Have seen quite a few peoples sleds and the relay terminals are so green from corrosion it causes irregular running). Motor mounts have been changed and kept an eye on as yes they do wear...
Original motor went approx 1800 km. Second one about 1500. The first time got everything new except crankcase and head, this time is looking to be the same thing. Nothing has ever been looked into really further. Probably should just get rid of it.
Know all about pre 2004 iron! Lol don’t know how many trailing arms I replaced on my Gen 2 700 RmK, and motors playing around with twin pipes, dial a domes etc.
I’ll support the economy, have a 16 Axys that will have a new motor next week, warranty till mid February 2019!! Ha
Was PTO side the first time as well. I did ask them to check the oil lines and check valves. Never talked about the pump directly but the sled does use a fair amount of oil. I dont think the crown was melted, it was more the skirt, ring land area on the exhaust side from what i gathered...
PTO Crank seal was no good and the way the piston and cylinder looked it appeared to be a lean condition that has been going on for a longer period to time, not just something quick. Polaris is covering another rebuild but not looking further into why two engines in that many km. My dealer did...
Who on here is on a Sidewinder that came off of a 2 stroke recently? I've been debating going with a Yamaha for years, as the continuous engine rebuilds I have been dealing with has finally got to me. I am currently on a 16 163 Axys that in 3600km just went in for its second motor earlier this...

Store it in my garage. Was fogged in late June as I rode till end of May. Fuel tank was full as was oil tank. I park and store my 2011 M8 right beside the Axys and that old girl just keeps on ticking. LOL.
Lost the PTO side today in my 16 Pro. This is the second time this engine has went down in 3500km. How many km are guys seeing before failure? Last year a crank bearing was the root cause. Not sure why this time yet. This was first ride this year, made it 10km. Coolant temps were normal...
Found some pipe insulation in the nosecone of my 16 RMK last ride and noticed the aluminum heat shield splitting on the pinch seam right up where the pipe bends in the front. Also had an intermittent DET code and also a one time TPS code putting the sled into limp mode. Would the rattling...
Id be interested in tagging along as well if your group isnt too large. Had a trip fall apart on me this morning and am scrambling now! LOL Just mself.
Does anybody know if there is a difference in the arms from old part number (220625-309) to the new part (1824533-309)? Maybe different forging or just different supplier? These part numbers are for the LH lower. Second one I've bent but was able to straighten this last one, just concerned it...
Looking for any info on how the FSR road into Area 51 is like. Is it plowed at all or still riding from the log dump? Hate to go down there to find out no access after an 8 hr drive. LOL.
I have one, it has not worked like expected. Could be just that too much snow gets under the hood mountain riding. Only thing in it is a spare set of goggles and one spare lense. No matter how much you ride whatever is inside is soaking wet.
Also wondering about 51. Are they running up to the log dump this year? Went in last year numerous times from the highway, couple times could only get the truck to the chain up area.
Thanks.
