Try this> From a dead stop, pinch the throttle to the bar, watch the tack and and note the rpm at WOT. 8-8200.
If the sled dies again before you reach 80 you are likely having jetting issues. If it holds rpm till you get to the same speed and acts up again, you may be having clutch issues:confused:
Sounds to me like you might have a problem with your TPS (throtle position sensor). Try disconecting it, this will cause your timming to go to full advanced. See if it changes anything.
I got one with all new crank, oversized pto and lowered cylinders. I use polaris black spring 140/330 and 74 grm weights. 19/39 gear ratio 159x2.4 track, Pulls very hard and spools up fast.:):d
If you know that the updates were done it is problably ok. I just put an new engine in mine but it was expensive because I opted to go with a modified crank. The clutch had to be taper cut to fit the oversized pto shaft. :d With air kit and can> 171hp:eek:
Apex69 is correct. Your crank is full of gas. Pull the plugs and then pull it over with the key off and the fuel shut off. You will get a lot of gas comming out. Do this untill it is clear and let it sit for a while untill it is dry and safe to start. PS> Do not elevate your sled and leave it...
Ya, there are a lot of tracks in the ditches and the slews are good to. Chickacakew lk. is froze over good and saw sleds out today. I didn't get out for a ride yet, to buisy fixing other sleds and doing restors on old ones. I need to change a trailing arm and shocks on my xc first tho. To cold...
Are you sure you are getting gas to the mag side? I suspect you have a crank seal gone on the mag side. (start engine and then flood it using choke, check plugs to see if they are both wet?) You say you got spark and compression? if you are getting gas, it should fire. GOOD LUCK
Timming is crical:nono:, always check the timming.Use the spec. for the 2003 800.
I thought you got a kit? If you did, you should have a tripple roller secondary included in that kit to work with the revers.
Jake, I believe you just sent me a message about perc revers. If you changed your flywheel wich you should have, you must do the timming as well. Use the 03 specs for engine timming.
Check this out. now why cant this happen at the start of the year? ps, does anyone have a right hand trailing arm and a windshield for this sled? 2000xc/sp 600 aggressive chassie.
Yes the air box is a pain in the but when changing jets but I believe it is the better way to go. Draw in cald air from outside. Use an air horn kit to speed up air flo. I use one and am very happy with it and never have problems. Prefilter material is a must when in fine powder snow. good luck
I take it you still have the big block in that model?
reed spacers
Aaen single pipe
Hot seat head kit ( cycle works EDMONTON on sale now I believe)
team roller secondary
change port timming
advance timming and so on. PS> when doing any kind of mods, it is a good idea to get a set of peromiters.;)
Yes, that 2000 model still has the keihn pwk 39mm carbs. I tunned a 99 not long ago and it still smoked bad when it was cold but it didn't bog. my friends 700 does the same thing and we tunned it well. a 2001 xc 700 with 40mm miks. does not do it at all and runs perfect. To bad we couldn't get...
Yes I know, it problably was updated to the new settings for the 2000 model year, He should go to his dealer to make sure. PS, I hope his dealer knows what they are doing, I have seen so many shoty outfits.
