We rode Lucille on Thursday, it was tracked out hard packed. Still had fun, but snow was needed.
The snow gods did answer to our cries, as she snowed all night and all Friday. We rode on Renshaw that day. She was socked in fairly good. visibility sucked, hard to tell hill from sky, dips and drops were felt and rarely seen. Saturday we went up Bell. That was by far the best day. Clear and good snow. I think there were only 5 groups on the hill that day. We hit the first meadow and found some fresh tracks, thankfully they didn't play around too much, so after we tracked it out, we broke into the other meadows. It was great, first tracks and big smiles. We had one brand new mountain rider with us as well. he did awesome, showed no fear when jumping the creeks or manoeuvring through the trees. Then up to the top of Big Bell for the rook to place a rock on the pile. And that was where my day ended. one weight and roller in my primary got damaged when i blew a belt on renshaw the day before. at the top of Big Bell I found out my primary was seizing, causing the engine to stall. So rode back to the cabin and was towed out. And of course being the only Cat in a group of Doo's.......
It was still a great time. I tried posting some photos but Seem to have issues loading pictures onto Snow and Mud. but they are in the Alberta Snowmobile Riders page on Facebook for those wanting to see.
Anyways. Great time, was sad to leave. Looking forward to coming back at the end of Feb. So save us some snow.
Ride safe.
Might want to check your spider and make sure it's not cracked. Towed a buddy with a 2011 M8 out of renshaw a few weeks back, same deal. Engine was bogged then seemed to seize. Turned out the spider had cracked all the way across.
