Got a buddy with a 99 mxz600 and he's running a 6 inch riser kit. Problem is the steering shaft can't handle the extra leverage, as it has broke a few times. Once above the pivot ( which was welded ) then it broke under the pivot a year later.
Anybody have any info for a aftermarket steering stem thats stronger for this type of application?

Wildchild over on Snowest used to make CroMo tubes. I've also had good luck running an insert in the stockers. On my S chassis I machined a piece of pipe to fit inside the stock tube, pounded it in and then tack welded it on the top.

No longer in Alberta... Moved to Toronto!
Like mentioned above... contact wildchild on snowest... his name is Kurt Holland and he works just outside of Kelowna (Lumby if I remember correctly). Cromo steering posts that are insanely strong... I am 6'3" and 240 with 9" risers and they are STRONG!!!
