I have to go thru a lot of ca ca getting Jeff unstuck...one was a pinhole on right rear sidewalk the other was on the bottom of left rear 3000 km or so on tires. Had a flat from a rock on railway in Bonneyville prior to moving to paradise. The tires seem to be holding up well tread wise.

You could try airing them down a bit. I only ever ran 5-6 psi in all the tires I had on quads.

Ok. That's really good. I usually chew them off in a season
a lot of rocks and roots here never carry any weight though

Zillas are a light trail tire , not a rocky/ root type of tire .... They will work , but are a little light for that terrain . Lower air pressure might help ... But then you risk unseating the bead . The sidewallls are really thin as well . So expect some punctures ....

Yeah they were bought for bville and did well there I had my choice between that and bighorns at the time. It's just this year I am getting the flats though so I will lower the pressure and have fun for the remainder of the year and keep pulling jeff out.

What do you recommend for hear? The zillas do not handle speed on the forstry roads but I am used to them.

Blackwater evolution by Itp

If I recall poo offers Itp tires as a performance upgrade option on there new s xs. I have to decide if I am going to keep this machine as a backup and do a side by side next year. Depends on the markets.

I run 28" zillas on 12" rims and have only had one sidewall puncture in about 5000km. I've mashed enough rims that I now watch for sharp objects near my sidewalls like a hawk. I love the rocky terrain, generally run them at 7.5-8 psi, and beat them pretty hard. Anything lower than 7PSI and the beads seem to fill up with grass and twigs.

Conversely, I have a buddy who will puncture the sidewalls on his zillas once a trip. He's running 27's on a 14" rim. I don't know if he's just careless or if the smaller sidewall makes it more susceptible.

I had way less trouble with 30 Zillas than 28s (14). I always run 10 wides F&R too ... I think that helps . The beads are more exposed on 28s and 8 inch wide apposed to 10s ..
I have had real good luck with Zillas , but the more powerful , bigger SXS rip them up
rather fast ...
On a quad they are a great all around tire ...
sxs , though I am liking my Itp cryptids a lot !
