Looks my to buy a new mower just looking for updates and opinions looking at around 54'' deck looking at the toros with the seat suspension anyone have one

Another vote for Country Clipper here. Have had it for a year now and no issues. The flip up deck is great for cleaning/blade removal and the wife likes the single joystick so she can text while she mows lol

Last year I picked up a 2017 Cub Cadet RZT SX54 with the steering wheel and a 54" deck...... LOVE it. Used to take me about 5 hours with my 21 horse 42" ride on now I can be done in about an hour & 45. I needed the steering wheel because of my ditches and side hill terrain, there was no way a mower with front casters would work. I chse cadet because for comarible price points they offered a fabed deck over the toro stamped deck, 0% financing over 3 years with 3 year warranty and I was impressed with the dealer knowlege & service (Agriterra in Stony). Cost me about $4950 out the door with a duel rear bagger attachment.

My whole property is uneven and off kilter, I don't find the zero turn cuts any more erratic than my ride on did.

Thanks for this, been looking at zero turn machines for work. Local Home Hardware is carrying the cub cadet line but havnt heard anyone using one.

Looked at a few different brands last year , ended up buying a Gravely 42 inch. Liked a few features better than the cub cadet or the JD and the price was very comparable. Works very well been great so far

If you're looking for a 54", look at the Z125SKH-54 in the Kubota. 25hp Kohler w/ 54" deck. If you have a Kubota dealer close by, go try one out. You WON'T be disappointed.

I get under there with my Deere... just get that pine fresh smell by the time you get round all the trees.

I bought an old used JD F725 early last year. Great rig. Not a zero turn, but front deck, rear steer....will leave about a 8" circle on a full tight turn...perfect for going around trees.

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. Currently doing my research on what zero turn to buy. I have approx. 2 acres to cut, lots of trees to mow around. We moved in at the end of August and I borrowed a buddies 42" Ariens to do it. It did okay but just took a whole afternoon to get the lawn mowed, my time is worth something to me... So I'm looking for a 54" to 60" deck. Seems like they all use version of the same 22-25hp Kawi, B&S, Kohler engines so not much difference there from what I can tell. My budget is 8k tops, looking for good used/low hours but not opposed to new if the deal is right. Just don't want to buy something that needs a bunch of work from the get-go.

Seems like major players John Deere, Kubota, Cub Cadet, Husqvarna. I don't really have a preference, just want something that is built decently and will last a long while with basic maintenance and decent dealer support.

Watch the auctions, Teams is a good one to watch. Thats a tight budget for a zero turn but watch the sales enough and you should be able to find one. The smaller auction companies in rural AB you can find a better deal at times. The online bidding has sure increased values though

Parents have had a John Deere Z540R with 60" deck and 24hp engine for about 5 years now, been a sharpen blades, change oil, and add gas machine since new. They have 2.75 acres, all of it is lawn with the back 1/3rd having tons of trees to mow around. It's about 3hrs to mow it all if the grass isn't too thick.

You never know, you might walk into a Deere dealership and find a salesman that wants to give a deal for a January sale.

Here's a used one from Brandt, not sure if there's room to dicker on price. Not much of a deal on used, only save $1,600 for 150hrs and 3 years old, can't imagine there is much warranty left on it either. For that price I'd probably just go new.

I had a jd but its at 800 hours and motor on its way out, they want like 12,000 for a new comparison i went with cub cadet 60 inch cut width 3 year warrenty and well under 1/2 price of the deere, we put 30 hours on it this summer mowing and very happy with it

If you find an old Grasshopper mower in your price range .
Check with dealer in Wetaskwin .
They are a bit primitive but great old mowers .
