Xm or xp plastics... What is more popular

Well having Xm plastics on one sled and xp plastics on another, and riding both of them over the year, is it just me or is the sled thinner and not look as bulky with the older xp plastics, I also find it much easier to remove front hood for spare belt and cooker, the Xm google holder is somewhat a joke for storage and probally scratched a few sets in trying

why I am asking this is planning on doing another build aand have the option to go either way, two lbs less as well, what's everyone thoughts

I have a 2010 summit and my brother has a 2013. I think the xm style is nicer than mine and looks slimmer. If your building a new sled, I think it should have new styling, and not look like an 08-12. Just my opinion. I guess it's what you like best. Hopefully your going to Yamafest and I can check out your carbon fiber beast. That's my next sled!

Like you mentioned - XP was much more accessible.. Pop the hood and panels off and at least you can see what's going on.. XM is kind of a pain to have to unbolt the hood.. All good if you never have to open it up.. XM goggle dryer is a big ol' humidifier, fogs your goggles up real good..

XM lines are a little smother but i agree, XP looked leaner..

Comes down to style or functionality i guess.. Depends how after you plan to be popping the hood to take a look..

XM is definately a pain for access under the hood but the panels were designed to go through snow better than the XP and also stop the front of the sled from washing out on steep sidehill manuevers like the XP does.

First thing I noticed on a XM too. Didn;t feel as slender to me. Not feel, but the look while on it. And psycological has a big bearing in this sport.

Its weird BUT so true I agree. Was like that when switching bike sizes when I raced motox as well....

I agree with bandit as well .. Last year I was renting and rode a m8 sno pro most of the year and it felt and looked like I had a huge boulder in front of me .. In my mind it seemed like I shouldn't be able to turn it .. Now I've got a doo and it looks considerably less "blocky" .
