XM Oil tank top fitting Need Help

Hey guys I was getting the sled ready for the season and had the hood off and found a 1/4 inch fitting on top of the oil tank that just had a little piece of hose on the fitting and a clamp but it goes straight into the tank. I have looked everywhere but i cant find a hose that should connect to this fitting. Is there suppose to be one?? Is it a vent or what the heck??

Also thought I should mention I have owned this sled since new and it was only in the dealership once to get the 10hr service and fuel tank update done. Not sure if the mechanic that did the fuel tank update ripped it off or what happened but it does seem right to have a open fitting on the oil tank. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks.

I would have thought with all the top notch know at all mechanics on here they would have figured this out.

Looking at a 2014 that fitting is not on the oil tank anymore. It is on the 2013 and it is supposed to be capped by the rubber according to part #51 on the oil system parts diagram BRP #519000216.
