Not sure if i would consider it a failure really but a weak point for sure is the rear suspension rails.

I don't even remember hitting something hard enough to do damage(yes my idler bolts were tight, checked them in the morning)

Left rail is bent up a little more than the usual kick and right rail is as you can see WAYYY up and bent inwards as well.
Bent both idler wheels also

Put new idlers in and am riding it for now, as its 2 weeks out for the machining work on a set of 154 XM Ice Age Rails

i might condsider the Rail reinfocements next season OR i just wont ride such early season anymore. but my sled looks EXACTLY like yours. the difference is i know exacty what i hit, how hard, and how fast LOL so im not bothered by it whatsoever and accept 100% respondsibility.

my cousins sled (2013) also hit a similar stump but he was a little luckier and it just destroyed and bent up both his rear wheels. no rail damage and was able to limp it out

i looked at the reinforcements and they may have helped but i still bent my rail even further back then where they sit.

This is why i decided on the Ice Age setup, the material is a stronger Aluminum and has much more material in the areas where i did bend it.

i accept responsibility for mine was well but I am dissapointed because although I ran over a few trees and stumps that day its nothing I haven't done before on my 08 XP and i never bent rails then. its just the luck of the draw

here is the ice age rail.

i never understood this but the weak point is still the thinest point on the rail even on the ice age. must have to do with suspension travel as thats where the rear arm collapses too. i didnt know they were made from a stronger material though. good to know.

Although true I feel like skidoo has it thin all the way to the back. If I took the proper hit the ice age would buckle at that low point for sure. But usually most of these hits occur on hard vertical landings or running over something with the skis in the air in which case the hit usually happens closer to the rear of the rail where there is more material. This is my theory anyways

i had problems with my fuel pump losing pressure .. almost left me stranded .. but after letting it cool down I limped back .. new fuel pump under warranty

a buddy had ignition coil issues, limped out, replaced and now good.

also bent my rail hitting a small bump, the doo rail are crazy thin. Was also running rail braces, they bent where the brace ends and he rail starts to tip up,doo needs better rails or at least a brace that includes the tip up portion..ordered some ice age rails bomber edition which is a solid rail with no cutouts, and at the thinnest part ill add the doo rail brace,id have to total the sled to bend these ones

Maybe I missed it in another thread, but there is a issue with the oil lines breaking off the oil pump, under the oil reservoir.
This is a 14 etec only problem and Doo is aware of it. Dealers are supposed to tug on the lines at the pump during PDI. I would check your sled yourself, you may need to pull the air box and possibly carb boots to get to it....I don't remember for sure what it takes to actually be able to pull on the pump lines, its tight in there.
Our new 14 made it 20 miles and seized up solid. This has happened on several sleds.
