Xm glovebox

Hi all.
Recently picked up a 2015 summit x 174 t3. The sled is amazing. Never been on a machine that I felt instantly comfortable like that one. Love it.
Only complaint I have is the glovebox.
I've heard that it leeches enough heat of the engine bay to keep a pair or two of goggles and gloves dry but all mine did when we were out in radium was get them just soaking wet.
I put the glovebox extension on it and have a Garmin Montana gps hard mount bolted to it which is awesome btw.
Do I have some sealing issues or do I need a couple small vents in the bottom of the box to let me engine heat up into it? Anyone else have this same problem?

The ambient temperature from the engine radiating through the plastic is definitely not enough to dry out gloves or goggles.

If you search here and on Doo-talk, I believe there were a few guys that cut vent holes in the bottom to increase warming. Without air movement, the moisture will stay trapped in the box.

I've had the best luck with their clutch cover bag, but that's also dependent on snow conditions. If the snow is deep enough, nothing dries out under there.

I just keep my cell, inreach, gps, and a toque in the glove box. Keeps them away from transceiver reducing interference and the luke warm temp keeps the batteries going all day. Only way to dry the goggles is put them on top of the clutch cover and they're warm and defrosted in about 5 min. Need the doo prefilter kit for this or there will be too much steam from snow melting on the pipe.

The clutch cover goglle bag is worth its weight in gold i run a couple pairs and switch them out whenever i stop. I always have a dry pair on standby. I have the full prefilter kit for my sled and never have to deal with moisture in my glove box but i wouldn't say i could dry stuff in there it just keeps it warm.

Thanks boys. I'll grab a goggle bag for the clutch cover then. Its got a prefilter kit on it. See if it works better this weekend. Or maybe just invest in a heated visor. Be like the old guys it looks comfy lol

only thing that glove box is for is a JL audio marine speaker haha, the google bag that goes on the clutch cover is mint tho ( old post i know )

Haha Ya back from the dead eh. Been cruising the xm page on the can this morning?
Got a goggle back on the clutch cover. Works mint. Fit 2 pairs in there and give er bullets

I keep my other set in glove box and I wrap it in a micro fiber cloth and works great!

If the snow is deep enough, the google bag is a humidifier also.

I have the heated liner with the glove box extension and I absolutely love it
