So Sunday we were out in about 3-4 feet of freash on top of a really good base and the sled was having a hard time breathing in the deep snow. I know it was that because when I clean the snow away from the air intakes sled ran great till the next big drift. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to help it breath better in the deep?

Thanks in advance.

if they are covered you will get this for sure.....

I was running heavier wet snow the other day no issue I find sometimes when going up in elevation as it gets colder you see snow sometimes start to freeze on intake,, just be sure to keep 1 clean and you will be fine I dust mine off mid pull sometimes after a big chit hook and the bars are covered... but on a day at -5 or colder I have never had issues

Just about every stock air box sled bogs if the prefilters covered.

If not its sucking from inside which is good and bad.

I've added 2 other spots for air outside and inside.

No more bogging when u need it most

there have been several times this season when sleds were bogging.
I really dont remember this problem last year in a much bigger snow year.
all sleds were suffering from it not just the xm's.
maybe a snorkle is the go eh?

but it really sux when the raves wont open whilst trying to pull off a technical side hill thru trees ...

There is a thread for snorkeling a xp.

My pics are in there.

I have the stock tampon , snorkeled on either side of the dash ( in the same spot the xm air is drawn from)

Then I made a 3 inch frog skin flow rite on the mag side of the low air box.

Made a Velcro cover so its nor allways sucking air from that hole ( like real hot , now powder snow days )

Works 100% now.
