WTH causes this?

Here are pics of my 2010 M8 SP secondary clutch. 200 miles. Causes? Warranty? Never noticed any issue riding it. Please see photos of the clutch face that has been rubbed through, rubbed through in three places. Belt looks fine.

It looks like it was out of balance due to maybe a loose bolt? Could it be warped at all. Since 2 of the wear points are across from each other it appears to have had a wobble to it. if the belt was fine I'd say it was a bad manufacture and should be under warranty. Did the guy at the factory drop it on edge before installing it? I know you have know way of knowing, just posing a question.

I`d say loose bolt. Probably just not tourqed right from factory??

The bolts did not seem very tight when I took them out, only took a 1/4" ratchet.

I wonder if they would warranty this as I already disassembled it?

Had it happen to me too, torque wasn't set on secondary bolt!!!! Torque it up to 32 ft lbs and you should be good, add blue loctite before torquing. Be sure to set shims and belt deflection correctly. Spin it up when your done and see if it continues to wear, if it does then you have warped primary or secondary or both... Good luck getting your dealer to warranty it, mine didn't Even though it was the dealers bad PDI!!!!!!!

What causes a warped prmary or secondary? I whas out in the mountins on my M7 this weekend my secondary clutch became seriously warped. Possibly from to much heat caused by belt slipping or what? it seems only the inside "plate" was warped? has anyone else had this happen?
