I've got soooo much mineral XPS oil. Local dealer was going to stop selling it in bulk so I bought them out to feed my oil hungry rev..

then something funny happened and I snowchecked an XM.

So I don't really have a good use for my metric tonnes of XPS mineral. I could sell them to friends and what not in season, but I feel silly buying more 2 stroke oil when I have that much sitting in the garage.

Basically I want to use it in my trials bike and chainsaw. My gas powered blender is a 4 stroke so I'm good with that!

Any issues with mixing oil that was meant to be injected ?
Any issues with it's viscosity since it was designed for cold temps ?
Is it going to make riding my trials bike as much fun as my sled ? How about cutting wood ? will that be as good as sledding ? because if so, I'm going to start cooking with that ch!t and rubbing it all over myself

sorry, got a little carried away there boys.

It's Bette to use sled oil year round. Cause its the cold temp oil. Might need the chain saw at -25. Summer oil would be frozen

One thing to keep in mind that a stihl mechanic mentioned to me is the new engines for stihl have a recycle system similar to an egr scenario. He said if you use the wrong oil she gets all bunged up and they run like pooooo. He says he sees it weekly???

I use "sled oil" in everything 2 stroke and have been for years. I'm thinking Tex is thinking about bar lube as that gets pretty stiff but once the 2-stroke oil is mixed with gas it is good to go and never a problem.

I still use Quaker State 2 Stroke Snowmobile oil (very cheap at Crappy Tire) in the chainsaws (2), the outboard, the dirt bike, and the weed wacker. I save the better oil (used to use Amsoil and now use Spectro) for the sleds.

And you will find that the normal amount of oil that one used to buy is more than twice as much than the Etec will use depending on the riding conditions.

You can run it in just about anything, don't worry. As mentioned the new Stihl saws have a funky new oiler system, that I would be leary about using it in, otherwise you can run it in pretty well any 2 stroke motor.

What oil are you planning on running in the XM that you have to get rid of this all, or are you just thinking the oil consumption will be so much less that you will have a surplus to store for a long time? It doesn't go bad if you got the room to store it then you will be ahead in the long run because oil is only going to go up in price.

Or you can sell it as tanning lotion down on Wreck Beach.......................

No I mean sled oil year round. Weed wacker, chain saw, had a little 2 stroke genny too.. mmmmmm sled smell year round

And no If u mix gas and use summer oil and the gas-oil sits it can seporate and the oil is like butter ( pour point )

tex, that didn't work for an explanation.

Years ago, while in the NWT, I would buy 5 45 gallon drums of pre-mix (in those days it was 20-1 so it was more oil) and never any separation even with the -40+ temps.

Huh.

Dunno. Mabe cause it was made to premix.

The newer stuff is realy not. It's meant to be injected.

How long are you letting it sit? I let premix sit in my tank all summer and it has never settled out. I have never heard of a "summer" sled oil or even a summer two stroke oil. its just 2 stroke oil. oil dissolves in fuel and the freezing point of oil is below -50C and the initial freezing point of unleaded fuel is typically around -97C, but this only is some of the hydrocarbons, solid freeze is usually around -150.

Probably going to run xps full synthetic in the XM as per my shiny manual. maybe I can exchange my mineral oil with synthetic at my dealer lol

otherwise i'll be "that guy" walking around wreck beach in a shirt selling mineral xps oil ..
