Work boots

I've been wearing Canada West lineman boots for years, and love them. But for concrete all day, they don't seem as comfy as when I was in the field. I also like there ironworker boots, and think I might give those a try.

Not sure where you are working but just a thought.. some sites ban ironworker boots on any body but ironworkers due to the lack of a heel for ladder safety.

I wear the 8" Dakota 557, been wearing them since they came out ages ago, I am on my feet anywhere 8-12hrs a day.

I wear these as well. No complaints here. Concrete and gravel

I've used Cat boots for 18 years or so, then switched to Carharrt for my last 2 pairs. I have wide feet with high arches and these are the only two I've found to not have any break-in period for me.

Timberland pro are a very comfortable boot. Boondock 6" wp. They have a 30 day comfort guarantee. If you don't like them within 30 days return them back. I've been wearing them now for a few years. Do not buy cat boots ,they are junk.

Nothing but Red Wings for me...they're like strapping 2 pillows on your feet! I've tried Cat and various other brands from Mark's and Wal-Fart, they are destroyed after 6 months, I get 3-5 years out of my Wings.

Yep. Exactly my thoughts. Was hesitant to buy my first pair but not any more.

If I bought 100$ boots they were blown to pieces in a year.

$200 boot blown apart in 2 years.

Stupid over priced red wings, still got them 4 + years and I still wear them around for yard work ect. Only bought new ones because the waterproofing was gone. The first year I can work in slush and water all day with dry feet. I do put the toe cap shat on them though as just leather wears out too fast.

Worth the extra money for me. Better comfort, better boots, and last way longer.

I tried red wings.....once. Didn't work out. They didn't last any longer for me but sure cost 2-3 times as much as other boots at the time. I think I figured out my sore feet lately. I was doubling up on my socks so my feet wouldn't move around. Today I tried back to just the single pair and my feet weren't nearly as sore as usual. Maybe about 20% as sore as before. Kinda like doing up skates tight and having sore feet.

Marks are good for me; all day but not a lot of concrete; ladders, rooves, dirt, but not 8-10 hours on concrete.

Have to agree. I have a pair of Dakota's that for me, have been the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Everyone has an opinion on boots but it's really trial and error until you find what works for you. I've tried red wings and I couldn't wear them. Just aren't for me.

I bought a pair of "Agressors" from Marks this spring. They are light weight and comfortable. I'm in and out of commercial & residential jobsites hourly and sometimes on concrete for 8 hours. They were a couple of hundred bucks and I am quite happy with them.

Mixed bag here at work - some wear Dakotas, some Timberlands, few of us wear Red Wings. I personally wear Red Wings as I need a minimum of a E width in a pretty big size and finding that alone is a challenge. Very comfy boots. The boots have taken a beating in underground hard rock environments and have weathered it really well. One thing that we're finding in our industry lately has been a full shift to internal Metatarsal guards. 4-5 years ago we had to go to Metatarsals and they could have been external. Now they are moving to internal. Something for others to keep in mind if you are buying a pair of boots that you expect to last a while.

Redwing pecos 3505's for years now. Just be prepared to have a break in period with any red wing boots.

I'm a big fan of J.B Goodhues, very comfortable and last. The ones that I wear are getting harder to find though
