Wanted the wife to start with a honda 750, nice and low and easy to handle. Well since I was getting a harley so was she. keep in mind I have rode many a bike and she never so I said that is not a very good idea (should not have said anything) but get whatever you want. So she got a dyna low rider. Well bike was too big, too heavy and not a good starter bike. Now she will never touch another bike again because she dropped it twice. She did take the motorcycle course but you learn there on 250's or dirt bikes, anyhow the moral of the story is start small and work you way up or you will regret going too big too fast. Now a 883 or 1200 are not big harleys but they are fairly heavy in comparison and the seat height is quite higher. just my 2 cents but something to keep in mind.
