Hey guys looking to get the cable off my winch . What’s your guys thoughts on the brand name winch rope and the Amazon ? There’s a pretty big difference in price. Also the fair lead for the rope how is that a mandatory thing vs the roller? Thanks

I’ve used roller fairleads with synthetic rope for 12 years now, never any issues with it. What is important is the drum and rollers be polished smooth first before switching to rope. Cheap ropes are fine, just upsize to avoid any strength issues. 1/4” minimum for ATV or 5/16”+ for a SxS, I don’t care what their ratings say.

I've been using Amazon ropes without issue, and for the price I don't feel bad about replacing when they start to look a bit rough. Also, lots of good videos on YouTube to learn how to properly re-loop a rope if you need to cut off a damaged end. Agree with Turbo's points.

I run Amazon rope on my 16.5k warn, and it's held up to some abuse.

5/16” should be good and Amazon companies change their name almost monthly, so no recommendation. I’m confident they all come from the same source anyway.
