In them hills.
WIth my motor failing on my 2020.5 and the delay at my dealer to receive my snow check, does anyone know of a 2022 Turbo 165 becoming available at any dealership?
Have you talked to Redline in Sylvan, they can probably get a new heart in her quickly and for way cheaper than a covid sled will run you.

picked it up today! Hey what’s the tallest risers you can put on this sled without extending any cables. Being 6’3” and long legs I definitely need something taller. Cheers!

Just be Very careful if you monkey around with the bars or riser. Wear the tether! Buddy did something to his new 2020 Expert like changed the riser or new bars or something I can’t remember exactly but he went for a quick rip after, and went to turn, throttle got pulled and stuck WFO. LUCKILY he got off but it had a very intimate meeting with a barb wire fence and some trees a few hundred yards away.

Then after that debacle, it had an interaction with a open creek and completely toasted the rails. Poor sled had a real rough childhood🤣🤣

Have to reroute the throttle cable when you install taller risers, anything greater then 3” above stock you will need to lengthen the cable completed to avoid the tight pull of the cable causing WOT.

I am also 6’3. Something to think about. I like to run the adjustable riser. During the day if you’re riding aggressive in the trees low bars is key for maximum control. The end of the day if you’re older like me it’s feel so good to stand up straight on the trail on the way down so I just adjust my bars tall for the ride out. The GEN 4 chassis definitely handles better in extreme terrain with low bars

I’ve been riding since 1995. I have always liked taller risers. I will never be convinced that I would enjoy or ride better with shorter risers even in tight trees and my back will 100% agree with me! I had 9” risers on my 2018 g4 and hoping I can put the same back on as long as the cables lengths are the same on my 2022. If I was unfortunate and was only 5’6 or 5’8 I could ride with the 4 inch risers that come on it like most riders will. I could maybe run with 2” risers! Cheers

Even if your 9 feet tall you want short risers in technical
Terrain. If your a meadow masher maybe doesn’t matter
I knew Mr. Skidoo would chime in as you know everything about everything. Don’t worry I can hold my own with taller risers. I wasn’t asking what length of risers are better for certain types of terrain……I clearly asked what maximum height I could go with for stock cable lengths. Cheers.

Im the same. I need tall riser at 6’4. I can’t stand trying to ride a sled with short riser. Logically I don’t understand why everyone says short risers are needed for technical riding? You have less leverage trying to hold the sled tipped on edge. I dunno, I get all the pro’s say it, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

I'm also sold on the lower bar height for technical riding. I've been trying to convince some of my retirement age riding partners, but not having much success.

Think of things in extremes when trying to figure out the benefits of certain techniques. As an example, road racing motorcycles have very low bar heights...now picture putting Ape Hangers on a sport bike and try and picture how that would work out for technical racing.
