Recap came off this tire by North Battleford,never lost air pressure in the tire,just lost all the skin.Did a number on the trailer.When I owned my own trucks I refused to buy recaps,this was a almost new tire!
Glad there was nothing beside me!

OMG...I have often wondered how destructive those could be.....see them lying all over the road on almost any trip....scary..

Did it come off in one peice? If not that is a one of few that peel straight back, or did it come off do the wap wap wap before it let loose

It came off in one piece,When it unwound off the tire it reached around the bumper and slapped down on top of the fender and lights,would not have done near as much damage if it came off in pieces.It actually hit the side of the tanker in two spots as well.

you hauling fuel???

Everything but fuel.........Soap,Oil,Antifreeze,De Icer for the airports,methanol,Little bit of Costic acids and so on!
No Fuel Though!

The tire peel is yes very freaky to watch , now be driving beside a big tire when it goes POP , that will make you think you just gave birth :eek:

had a recap hit my suv a few years ago caved the hood in smashed the window and caved a bit of the roof in tillit stopped on the sunroof which burst...
