We just got back from the Whitefish area. Avalanche conditions are high as they got a lot of snow the last few days. Snow depth in the back country was right around 6 to 7 feet before the big snowfall on Feb 25. Grooming is being done but not as much as some years especially from Olney staging area. Canyon Creek is groomed a couple of times each week to the ski hill lodge. Have fun and be safe as they have had 2 avalanche fatalities the last week in the area. Non resident trail passes were sold out at Eureka after we bought ours but they still have them in Kalispell. You can get some good info about grooming, avy reports etc. from the Flathead Snowmobile Association website.
