As much as a flop the G4 is with it's issues, it has some good features. I believe a handy person can buy one of these belt burners and do some work to it and end up with a decent sled for a decent price. I might be looking for a creamsicle this coming Fall as a project sled. Put in a bulkhead brace kit, put it on a huge diet and clutch it properly. Then do some suspension work to make it work properly.

I would keep my Polaris for the deep snow tree riding though.

Throw a Polaris primary and a Team secondary clutching problem gone.

At this point after the the G4 being at the end of the firing range for so long on this website its pretty well useless try to speak good on its behalf. I read all of this stuff and its still just weird for me... I am NOT seeing g4's coming back with belt problems lol. The odd broken bulkhead for sure... But so far the broken bulkheads I see... If it was an XM they would be bent so bad you would be changing it regardless. I wouldn't be comparing the G4 to the 08 Xp thats for damn sure but there is definitely enough frustrated consumers out there to make some noise enough to where BRP has decided to do something! A 2017 is going to have to be priced right right now for someone to want to jump on one before a 2018. Let them figure out what they are doing. Trade values will level out. Like I said.. WHY would you want to lock in a price right now on something you arent getting rid of until the fall or later... Let the issues get worked out.. let the economy stabilize..... let it snow a bit next year and the prices will come back!

ive seen far more G4 belts blown than 08 belts so yah i would compare them LOL. however they are amazing machines compared to the 08. we could have had far more serious issues with these things being new from front to back so hopefully its all solved for next year and the 2017 customers are taken care of

i could sell alot of snowmobiles...........................couldnt imagine how hard you would have to work to sell a polaris in this day and age though. props to those guys.

customer: i notice in the specifications the pro rmk has a 15" wide track and the summit has a 16" wide track can you explain the difference?\

polaris salesman: burandt says its way better

customer: it seems pretty straight forward that the more surface area on the snow in deep powder would clearly be more advantageous?

polaris salesman: nope 15 inch wide is just better. besides those deep days are only one in a million
I would attempt to counter your reasoning but I am not messing with a x triple A midget hockey enforcer

Kinda surprising Doo is still using that 16 wide track, I can see it on the two ups and trapper models, where it started, but my thinking its kinda like needing training wheels on a mountain machine. If you think your riding skill set is such that you need a wide-trak, you probably aren't actually ready for the mountains. Good sled , dependable, great fit and finish, comfy seat, and lots of cool snap on luggage and stuff, great sleds to learn on , then when you wanna get out of the bunny hills and get away from the cabin crowd, you can see it's obvious, the guys who have progressed and improved as riders are moving up to the Axys and next year I'm thinking you're gonna see a lot more guys on that new Cat. Just no need for a big wide track anymore, takes away so much fun factor. Doo realized that a couple years ago, as is evidenced by the multiple attempts at compensating for the wide-trak issues. Some guys will still want them though, mainly guys who just can't get to that next level.

Thats why I like my 97 wedge. Same weight but 10 times stronger and way more power.

I've seen a few of your posts LennyR and I honestly can't tell if your a sh!t disturber or if you genuinely believe half of the crap that you post. One thing I know is that in this case you are horribly wrong. Say what you will about the 850 and it's issues with the belts and the oil and the bulkheads and whatever the S&M anti doo crazies have dreamt up but to say that any 15 wide without a turbo can even compare in any riding situation makes me wonder if you even ride a sled. Unless you're under 160 lbs which I am gonna go out on a limb and say the average mountain rider is not, the 16 wide provides an advantage in every technical aspect and the 850 provides the extra torque that truly puts this sled in a class of its own. Get out and ride one before you start flapping your lips. In no way am I telling anyone that they should buy an 850 or that they are issue free but god damn I am so tired of people that have never even tried one telling everyone how sh!!ty they are because some other loser on S&M told them they sucked. "Can't make it to the next level" ???? What are you a high school fuc&ing guidance counsellor??? Pound sand troll
