Who premixes oil in there turbo etec and how much? (Stock oil injection still functional).
I'm not new to turbo's but certainly a brp virgin. Been away from sledding for a few years but just picked up a 15 turbo xm. The sled has a BD tial/intercooler kit that I'll b running at 6-8lbs on straight AV gas. Im planning premixing for some extra insurance, but haven't decided at what ratio yet.
I know there will b those that say don't do it there's no need, but go ahead voice your opinion. I'm trying to gather info on the folks that are premixing and at what ratio. I'll b premixing with the new xps x2-rs racing oil. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

I do, i run 50/1 for oil in the fuel. seems like alot but you cant really tell. doesnt smoke hardly at all. and id rather be over oiled then under, plus you dont want to wash the oil off the intake side of your pistons. oil is your friend.

I ran for 4 years and 8000+km at 8lbs with my snow to air aerocharger kit in my 13. finally rebuilt due to crank run out, pistons were like new still. 40 to 1 in the fuel and turned up oil pump. i will be doing the same on my 850 when i put my aero kit on it. no snow to air this time be 5lbs non intercooled to start.

Etec have 2 issues with turbos oiling and crank run out. Piling for the rods is only on one side and nothing at the top. Cranks go out of phase on stock engines so turbos even more so. That’s why I removed my stock engine and put in an upgraded one with pinned crank and better rods that oil both sides and on top along with being stronger. Adding oil to the fuel doesn’t help anything in these situations. In an etec fuel is sprayed directly on top of the piston so if anything all you are doing is making a little tiny bit more build up on top. It probably won’t hurt anything or foul a plug (I’ve been told guys have fouls plus mixing but never seen it first hand) but it’s not helping or lubricatinf the sides in any way. If you want your best option is to have it hooked up to buds and turn the oiling up using the buds system

I'll probably get the oil pump turned up for what it's worth. With aux boost injectors in intake i cant see extra oil doing any harm. I've been researching pistons, rods and cranks. Where did u get your engine built? What material did u go With?

Tom at most is your best bet. Pinned crank, woosner rods and pistons. Crank runout is checks and he will give a 1 year warranty even with boost for about 2200. Can’t beat the price or quality

$2200.00 and he rebuilds yours or $2200.00 exchange if your motor isn’t blown up?
I have a complete motor that isn’t blown up but run out is getting to much is the reason I ask?
Thanks

I talked to mots today. roughly $2100 and they'll do a crank/pistons and rods. They deal with cvtech and do custom work also. If u just want a crank, bring them yours and get them to make you whatever u want.

what about the fuel coming in the airbox through the boost injectors?

I turned up my oil pump 2 numbers after talking with sick1 in October. I see no ill effects in riding performance. I am running straight av gas at 7lbs. My riding partner also turned his oil pump up 2. He burned his motor down after a severe lean condition(setting his own fuel map with stock injectors) and when it came apart there was a lot of oil on everything...he has since got back to one number more than stock for oiling.

I’ve yet to see a etec turbo that had an issue from not having enough oil for pistons. It’s allways crank and rods in my experience but yes you are correct if that’s what your after. Like I said the issues are crank and rods and just adding little fuel in the oil doesn’t help that IMO by the time you have enough in the oil it’s to much for drivability. I’ve had a few customers try it and fouled plugs at 50:1 and then tried per mix instead of injection oil was a little better but still fouled plugs and groggy in the bottom/mid range
