Who got rid of their belt drive on the new Polaris?

I ride an xm and have yet to ride a pro, this winter I will be sure to get on one before lunch, before it breaks down. only seen 1 belt go. one broke an a arm (someone looked at it funny). and the only other time I rode with a pro he had to turn around because it just wasn't running right. mostly everyone I ride with has ski-doo xm and xp. not one breakdown in the bunch this year. personally put 3300kms on my xm with only one belt change at 2200kms. not bad for a turboed machine. at least polaris lightened them up so they are easy to tow.

I love all the guys who have forgotten or weren't even riding sleds yet when Doo came out with the 2008 belt blowing XP's.... but yet have now jumped on the "Poo-bashing" wagon for a similar issue, just on a different belt. Pot calling the Kettle black?

What are you talking about???? 2008 XP's didn't blow belts and their drive shafts were rock solid! Not a single one replaced!

I couldn't agree more. You can knock the xp all you want, take a stab at the rev too. but the fact remains that those sleds set the bar and continue to with the xm. If it weren't for these sleds from ski-doo we might still be riding the old torpedo style sleds with our feet straight out in front and bars so low you couldn't stand up if you wanted to. polaris did take the lead on the drive belt, I will give them that. They also continue to lead the way in the lightweight department. If Polaris can strike a deal with the makers of crazy glue they might just have a lightweight sled that will hold together all day.

Failure and progression come hand n hand, i love the fact that Polaris is trying new things like space rocket glue and belt drives. People that got choppered out last year may not agree but hey i like the big picture.

Mmmm I Duno. Xp dropped 50lbs from the other manufacturers, was the strongest chassis with the pyramid frame, rider forward, highest engine output. The rev changed the way we think about rider forward. But it was not light what so ever. And it only made 150hp. ( I know 10 yrs later Polaris is still having trouble touching those numbers) but that's fine. Run what makes you happy LOL

Polaris had a 150hp back in 2008 to 2010 but they didn't last a season and not sure on the weight but I know they weren't as light as a xp.
