Too bad we couldn't vote for our constituent, and then vote for a premiere.... Kinda like the u.s., however they have their own problems with politics and a system like that.
I think the election is going to copy federal elections of the past, where majority of voters don't want the p.c.'s but the votes will be split among 3 other parties(alberta, wildrose and ndp) and as a result, the p.c.'s will get in again, and probably with huge majority govt again

It's time for a change !!! Like Nenshi said the Prentice gov. Can't find $200,000 to save sick children's lives but he can spend 30 million on an election that doesn't need to happen for another year ?

prentice figures he can strong arm in with an election right now. He needs an election so he can get a mandate then he can institute the sales tax he wants to do but can't at this time. You watch he's a crooked as$ mofo and if we don't stand up to him it's gonna cost us a fortune.

All these negitive posts about Alberta are a little excessive. Yes we have had a couple of shi##y premiers. I get that Redford was a crook and Eddy should have stayed farming, but this is still the best province in Canada and will be for a long time to come. I get it the frustration with politicians like Redford,,Did't like that aragant bit%h from the start but I voted for Smith who turned out to be a real donkey, wonder where we would be now if the Wildrose had got in? Hey the oil price is down and it effects most of us. But it will come up. Prentice has a track record of solving problems particularly native land claim issues which will come in handy over the next few years if we are going to move our oil at world price. We have lost billions due to discounting of our oil over the past decade (bitchum bubble). I think Prentice can solve our pipe line problem and we will be ready for higher oil prices when ever they come.
What pipeline problem?

Again how can anyone in the middle class honestly vote for Prentice knowing his plans for paying the debt off from the PC's mismanagement of funds is to tax the hell out of them while not raising corporate tax one bit or royalties which haven't been raised in years?
Again after he openly blames Albertans for their financial mess up? Give your head a shake.
Rest assured a Prentice Sales Tax won't be far behind if he gets in.

I'm really struggling as to who gets my vote this time around. just wish someone would grow some balls and tell it like it is, we need a major restructuring of the resource based revenues and royalties. now is a good time to clamp down, using the excuse that it will cost jobs seems like a moot point right now? get it done....it might hurt for a few years, but the dino juice isn't going anywhere. corporate greed is killing our province

Ok I get it you don`t like Prentice. Who you voting for the Rhino party. That BS about Prentice blaming Albertans was cooked up by the Sun which has a journalistic standard about par with the national enquirer. Check what he actually said its on line.
P.S. I like you LBZ you have a opinion. You may be out to lunch but you have one, more than I can say about some folks!!!

lol, you come off just a tad bias, you work for PC party or have a relate running for office. Smith was not a donkey she unfortunately was coerced by prentice and Preston manning to merge the right, simply she got suckered. That alone is reason to not vote for Prentice after he misled several WR mlas into walking across and then delivering the most left wing PC budget ever.

Smith was tricked in to crossing the floor?? I feel stupid I voted for her last election. I am not bias I will vote for anyone that I think will do the best job. I am not going to vote for some Donkey Dick just for the sake of change I tried that, didn't work. For those who believe that Prentice will bring in a sales tax don't let your Flat Earth Society membership laps you will need those friends for other global conspiracy theory's to be discussed in a logical manner.

Politically I am CONSERVATIVE. Stopped voting for them 2 elections ago as I thought I saw the PC's need at time out at the very least. Really, I doubt any of the other parties could screw it up in one term...well any worse than it is already.

So I voted Wild Rose last two times and still get stuck with PC's. They just don't seem to have a chance to get it together before the election so I am afraid the vote will be wasted. Think I might go NDP cus WTF but I am going to vote. If half of the people who don't vote did, there would be change.

Listening to non-voters is like listening to anti-vaxers. Unbelievable boring and invalid.

true... but handing govt reigns over to no experience is worse than keeping reigns controlled by experience however deranged it might be ;) ... i say we have to give Prentice some time to straighten out and keep everyone accountable. Very smart/sharp individual, and I think a good opposition party will keep the sanity in the legislature

How'd that work out for Germany in the 1940's

It wasn't cooked up. In literal terms it's what his quote translates to. His quote was “in terms of who is responsible, we need only look in the mirror.” Seems pretty straightforward to me what he is implying.
As far as who I am voting for, it won't be any of the big 3. Too much corruption in them and they all have a sense of entitlement and that they are untouchable. Years of abuse without penalty have shown that to be true I.E. Redfraud.
I feel a smaller party might respect the responsibility bestowed upon them and try to serve the public before lining their own pockets.

In the quote he says that we have all enjoyed the good years E.G. new hospitals schools Etc. I understand your frustration. With out people like you Redford would still be around instead she is out on her ear. Her own party through her out. So maybe your thinking is closer to the PC then you would like to think. But I do get it you want change. What a great country to have change available to all of us with a simple vote.

The PC party needs to go, but will always lead Alberta.
Nobody is willing to change, but the albertans are willing to hand out more $ during tougher economic times, like many albertans are facing now.

With all the fresh water being drawn out of rivers and creeks for fracking, prentice could of taxed that, or taxed it harder, instead of raising our taxes.
I know how I'm voting but it doesn't matter cause I already know who will be leading Alberta.
