I have the same question. Heading out there the first week of March. Staying at the ski hill and me and the brother in law are bringing our sleds. I have checked out the trail maps but would like some input on where to stage and ride. Not interested in big climbs, just hills and trees to play in. Also, is there anywhere to rent beacons in whitefish?

Lots of riding areas in whitefish, snow conditions are poor right now, u can stage at canyon creek North Columbia falls or at the end of whitefish lake and ride behind the ski hill and even up the back side to the summit of whitefish mountain resort

Thanks. Seems like the snow everywhere sucks, but the trip is booked so at least wanna get some riding in. Even a crappy day riding beats a good day at work.

In my experience going south has always been a disappointment. West is the answer IMO. With 9-10 of settled snow in the Revy area and good, dry snow at the higher elevations of the Golden area's why anyone would want to go to a 2-3ft base south of the border?

It's the wife's family ski trip, they decide where we go. We are not much for skiing so we bring our sleds. Go to fernie most years cuz her brother has a place there but they wanted to go somewhere different this year.

Well here's hoping it starts dumping snow! Like I said, no real choice where we go so gonna give it a shot anyway. If it's really terrible we may have to hit the ski hill.

Rode from canyon creek staging area today. Trail was smooth all the way today. Everything off the trail was a hard crust with 3 to 4 inches of fresh on top. Pretty much exactly what we expected.

Anyone gonna be riding near Whitefish this weekend? Coming down today and staying til Tuesday, staying at a cabin on the ski hill but I'm the only one in the group with a sled. Not sure if I should bring it or not. Beginner skill level and very conservative on terrain selection, can usually get where I need to go but it isn't always pretty hahaha. Fully equipped with beacon/shovel/probe/airbag/radio.

Some of the best snow I've had has been just south of the boarder, if you hit it just right it can be epic! It's no different if someone from Montana hit Boulder and or Quartz after 700-800 peeps just hooker beat the fawk out of it! they would probably say the same thing you are. . Knowledge of where to go when is key. This takes time and dedication.

Been In Revy four times since Christmas and every time we have had excess fog and shiny days over all.. Snow can be good but if vis is not good, your only stuck to the trees and we all know Revy has **** for trees

ten lakes, upper whitefish, hungry horse all have trees and snow last much longer and ussally as deep as Revy in the trees we have found.. Been hungry horse a few times this year and sled has worked harder than ever..

revy is is twice the price to sled as well even with a forty cent extra dollar.. 3.5 hrs closer is also a big plus
