We are probably cousins. Have lots of family in the Rosenort area. Large Mennonite families. My dad was the oldest of 14 kids.

Very well could be. We have lost touch with a lot of our relatives out that way, my grandpa moved out to Alberta in his late teens back in the early 50's where he met my grandma around Linden Alberta. Most of his immediate family made the move to Alberta about that same time as well. It was in '54 that they made the move up here to the Peace Country where the family has been ever since.

Which brings up another interesting story. My grandma's dad and his brother had managed to each get a quarter section of land around Linden, luckily enough they were side by side. Of course to keep the land they had to live on it. They had arrived later in the year to find both quarters grassland with little for trees to build a shelter with. As winter was approaching they built a small sod shack on the border of their 2 quarters. Each brother slept on their half of the shack on their land, satisfying the requirement to live on it while halving the amount of work by building 1 shelter instead of 2.

Poland to Russia, then to southern Manitoba and pacifists.
I have lived in Steinbach for 16 years. If you don't know where that is you ain't a true mennonite
Steinbach is a prime example what immigrants achieve...

Sorry for getting off topic
The majority of my family live within 20 miles of you.

I have lived a white privileged life. When I was young my dad would kick my white ass with his white foot if I didnt get out and do the chores or whined about going to work. A white foot in the ass is a good privileged motivator.

On and off for the last few years, due to the $hit that has been going on, I've been thinking of purchasing a shotgun. I've never owned a gun in my life but I have shot some skeet and fired small caliber rifles. My wife does not like guns and would really not like me having one in the house. She knows some of our friends own rifles and shotguns and isn't winged out about that, but I think she might be a little off kilter if I bought a shotgun.

I have done zero research on the hoops I would need to jump through to purchase a shotgun...anyone want to fill me in on what I would need to do?

Get someone you know to buy you one. The shotgun doesn’t need to be registered to any address and just keep it at your house quietly. I have never owned a shotgun in my life.
But life is different now. To not have guns is foolish imo

You can do it that way as stated as above in my opinion though you have a responsibility as a firearms owner to take the course and learn the ins and outs. A lot of it is overdrawn basic.. but it might save an accident.

I used tothink I was a regular person, but I was born white, which now, whether I likeit or not, makes me a racist and responsible for slavery.

I am afiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascistbecause I plan and support myself.

I went toHigh School, worked through college, got a degree and have held a job. I am nothere because I earned it, but apparently because I was advantaged.

I amheterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I amnon-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and ally of bigbusiness.

I am nota Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel and/or islamaphobic.

I amolder than 62 and retired, making me a useless old person who doesn'tunderstand Facebook.

I thinkand I reason, so I doubt what mainstream media tells me, which must make me areactionary.

I amproud of my heritage and our inclusive Canadian culture, making me a xenophobe.I value my safety and that of my family, and I appreciate the police and thelegal system, making me a right-wing, cop loving extremist.

I believein hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual'smerits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believeour system guarantees freedom of effort – not freedom of outcome or subsidieswhich must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believein the defense and protection of Canada for and by all citizens, now making mea militant.

I amproud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to let it fly, soI stand and salute during our National Anthem, taking me back where I started –I must be a racist.

Pleasehelp me come to terms with the new me because I'm just not sure who I amanymore!

I thankmy friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, newfound changes to mythinking! I just can't imagine or understand what's happened to me so quickly!

Funny –it all took place over the last 7 or 8 years!
If allthis nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which restroomto use, and I gotta go more FREQUENTLY!
