No but know three guys that did and had nothing but problems with them.
Had a terrible time trying to sell.
Ended up selling for next to nothing just to get rid of them.

Have it narrowed to zuki, yammy, outlander L

Still lookin for anyone with personal experience with the outlander L 500...youtube videos can only do so much!!

I guess i will have to hit the forums...lol

A lot will depend on how the owner treats their equipment.

In no particular order...

Yamaha griz 550-750

Artctic cat 550-700

Suzuki king 550-700

Can am L 500

Polaris 570

Dont care which has the most power, I DO care about value, and LONG TERM reliability!!

don't think you would have many problems with any of your choices. not usually bought by the performance crowd, the outlander 500 may have a bit more power than the singles, but after market stuff may be a bit harder to find. having enjoyed riding a few trails with you, you seem to be more of a trail puttzer like me, although it is nice to put the hammer down when you need too. I would factor in dealer service availability, what kind of deal you can make, try to get 20% off on parts etc, don't accept less than 10%. u still in red deer? turples has a few upset people on here for service? power sports seems to be ok ?

The thing about the can am is the warranty and price point really. The 500 vtwin is the same its always been with a few more ponies...but the zuki and yammy are proven as well. Bit higher price point and far less warranty...

As far as the question raised about maintenance...Im vigilant, nothin but synthetic in all moving parts. Had too many run ins with failed parts on the puzzy cat that taught me my lesson, and last year put lots of miles on the cat without a single breakdown.

Yeah imoodin i would rather cruise the trails at a steady pace than rip as fast as i can...but there do come times when ya gotta squeeze the trigger and giver sh!t.

Outlander L has only been around for about a year, may not be a lot of "real world" reviews out there yet.

The cheaper shocks that come on the outlander will be brutal !! Rather than than just worry about price and warranty you need to enjoy the ride as well.....Thats the reason you buy in the first place. Fact is with easy cruising and good maintainance any of the brands will stand up great....

I would worry about spending some seat time on the proposed bike, as apposed to just getting the "better deal".......Some of these cheaper bikes are cheaper for a reason.............IMO

Outlander will be the heaviest of the 3 at real world ready to ride weight.
If those are the 3 you are set on I'd probably go yammy then can-am. Buddies with King Quads all had nothing but issues from diffs to electrical.

Curious why not Kawasaki on the list? Brute Force 750 is a solid bike. And good pricing on them.

I had a demo King Quad last summer from Cycle Works West for a week, it was a really nice riding machine, the only thing I noticed is that it really lacked in the engine braking department.

I owned a kingquad 750 (non PS) for 5 years, here's a few things that come to mind. Pros: Lightweight: Noticeably light.... trust me I owned a Outlander 1000 for a few months and that quad made me miss my kingquad at times. Handling: It rode like a sportbike on the trails, very good control. The yammy rides like a Ford truck, if that makes sense, doesn't corner near as well with a large amount of body roll. Reliable: Anything that broke was self inflicted. Keep in mind it's a single 750 with low HP, so harder to break stuff. Power: Yes I put this up there.... Smoother/better power than my buddies Yammy 700. Very easy to add power to the bulletproof 750 to help keep up with Vtwins (won't beat them), I did the VDI and the COOP clutch sheave mod for pretty cheap. Resale Value: I sold mine for $2k less than what I paid after 5 years of ownership... I got a crazy good deal, kept it in good shape and it sold easy. I still to this day can't believe how little that quad cost me in the long run. Cons: Not built for Mud/Water: Low CVT exhaust in the rear, gotta do something on this for sure, but you said you'd do a snorkel so problem solved. The CV boots are not well protected and the rears don't give much clearance and build up mud easy. I went through 3 boots before I finally got a-arm guards. The outlanders have a better design for sure. Steering: Easy steering for non-PS, but they have this flaw in the front end geometry that can cause a sudden turn in the steering, google it. There's a cheap $300 fix from a guy in BC or just get power steering to fix it. Trust me, it scared me a few times and all you need to do is ensure you have two hands steering at all times as it's pretty unexpected. Fuel Mileage: I never got great fuel mileage, probably because I always on the throttle a lot with the little single and had a VDI. Not a big deal to me really, still way low on gas compared to a sled. Parts Cost: I feel parts are higher cost for a Suzuki when compare to an outlander or yammy. Probably because of market share......... If I was you I'd probably go for the Outlander L, can't beat a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty for $8k. My buddy has a 500 and it has been solid for him. That V-twin sounds awesome too!

Should be lookin at the Kawi for sure, best bike of the Jap bikes.............

you would recommend a cowasaki after suds buds events, well I guess owning one would be cheap as u can always find parts laying on the trail. lol dealer in red deer really really sucks, better off buying a honda

Kawi make great stuff, tough as nails.... There sxs are light years better than Honda , Yammie and Suzuki ... Wait Suzuki has not built a sxs yet.....lol

I used to feel the same way about the lever but after riding a push button diff lock bike and seeing how often I used it, it's really a non issue.
Then I noticed how light they are and that their HP/Weight ratio ready to ride is one of the best in the higher CC classes. Seriously considering one for my next machine but this is your thread so I'll shut up.

The dealer might suck but their prices are pretty good right now. Buddy is looking at them and they have the best prices around. I feel they are right up there with Turple's - good prices, $hit service dept.
