They're all good now, you really need to ride them to know. they will all get you where you want to go, just might be some minor differences that mean you prefer one over another.

I've been Doo for yrs. Rode my cousins 11 pro 163 and was very impressed with it. Very nimble and when climbing, it just keeps pulling. Comparing to my 04, I liked the pro better.

On the other hand, it should be better, it's 7 yrs newer. My Doo is 16 wide track and the pro still is 15 wide. In the deep pow my sled floated more than the pro. The only thing I don't like about the pro is bad vibration just before the engine comes to idle and at about 1800 rpm. The whole sled shakes. Polaris says it's from the stiffer frame.

I guess time will tell.

If I was to buy new (wife gave me the go ahead this yr) I would have have to go with the pro.

everyone has a great product right now, im riding a pro assault and the advancement from my 09 is amazing. im not brand loyal to anything but i do love my new poo. And fuel and oil consumption is right on par with the e tec that i've rode with plus 1200 miles of tough riding on a belt lol:d good luck shopping and have fun its a wonderful time to be a snowmobiler right now :beer:

the 2010 and earlier 800 engines are the one with problems on the polaris. The new 2011 engine has been good. only a couple have gone down but it seems to be do to low oil consumption. Also the new pro motor is right up there with the e-tec as far as fuel consumption goes.

Where are you getting that information in regards to fuel mileage? The Polaris website? That's not what the magazines and the real world is saying.:confused:

would kind of suck to buy a new doo, then they come out with a new sled the following year. I am not one to buy a first year production though anyway.

Dead straight across comparrison from seat time
Had 2 Pros in our group over three days of riding and 2 E's.
Fuel and oil were almost the same, little had to compare identicle because of what the riders were doing, but no negligable differance.
D8's and older Doos were using pretty much 2's the fuel.

Three weeks ago we were in two and a half of pow with bluebird and ran a couple of our ETECS out of fuel . Very similar mileage with the PTEKS that day. However on most weekends with say poorer visibility or less pow we see huge differences between the ETECS to anything else we have rode with. Depending on your snow conditions that day that you rode with the ETECS it is possible but not likely in most conditions.:beer:

Our real world riding has shown that they are pretty much identical. the e-tec is a little better. have rode with 2 pro's and 2 e-tecs at the same time and also a 2010 d8. The d8 burns twice as much fuel as the other 2.

The beloved TV show Snowtrax says the same thing: New Polaris 800 is nearly as good on oil and gas and the etec.

Like I said azz clown there have been alot of posts of new poo owners pizzed with their sled on this site this year. The multiple posts happened due to a server hangup so blow me. A Doo will out last and out Doo a poo anytime. You ride a poo so I give your opinion due consideration if you ride a poo you gotta have chit for brains.:d:beer:

For the fuel/oil consumption thing - Doo did revise the figures AFTER the sleds had been released. Just so we are clear - the ETEC fuel and oil consumption values are HIGHER (yes its typed correctly) than what Doo initially indicated in advertising and pre-production values. There was a short section in SnowTech or SnowGoer about it. Originally Doo had indicated something like 17% improvement over the P-Tek, but later revised the # down to 12 or 13%. They also said that in the Summit configuration, the ETEC used just as much oil as the P-Tek.

haven't had a chance on a pro myself, I'm in no rush, bought a new cat this year so not even in the market, but I do ride with a buddy who has a freeride summit with a 154 etec and on average we burn the same or I burn slightly more 5litres in a day, to me fuel mileage means nothing if you're having fun, as for handling the pro is supposed to be superior to the m chassis and if you compare the m to an xp even with the swaybar disconnects they are two completely different machines, I don't know how to explain it, you cannot say one is better than the other unless you are a doo owner and think like most do and only doo makes a good sled, they are something that takes getting used to, myself the xp feels like a tank that is about as much fun as riding my king cat, but when you ride with guys who own them and have the handling figured you can't say they are terrible handling. I would personally go with a pro if you're looking into these two, but the new pro climb is pretty impressive and I'm not all cat I bought both sleds this year, long story, but I have never been loyal to any, had a doo, yammy, and polaris prior. Rasmussen is preaching online about the pro climb steady but then again Burandt is still doing the same for the pro......where's the doo? just sayin:d well there is maxwell;) hahaha had to:beer:

Well I have a hard time believing that the pro 155 is 453lbs ish. If they are - like what did they use for frame/tunnel material - R certain parts of the shed going to fail due to the fatigue. Time will tell! Havent riden one so cant say how they handle or perform - Did run against one - It held its own!The 08 XP was lightened up extensively - why was the 09 heavier - possible warranty issues? Maybe! Chris Burant rides and promotes whatever sled is given to him - why do u think he switch brands!! For me - since I ride an XP - the 08 to 10 cat chasis seems bulky - havent gotten the hang of it - just dont feel comfortable - maybe need to ride it for few days. Have ran against some of these sleds and are impressive - not stock though! A little massasging of engine components thats usually arent disclosed! The new 2012 is new so will see . Not sure about the 1100 4stroke. Hopefully not to heavy. Driven few Nytros Turbos - nice pwr - but feel heavy - not as nimble. You have to be agressive and used alot of umphh to make them turn. The XP chasis - I can make it do whatever I want - without to much effort! I think it really depends on you riding style - what you are familar with and get use to!

ive been on both....the poo has small running boards that suck and chitty bars and also its under powered.....the doo has more power and wider runnig boards...ans yes the doo has a noticable amount more power. I liked the pro rmk untill I rode it. as far as filckable there farly close. the poo was hard to stay on once there was snow on the runningboards....but if u want a sled with real power get a turbo nytro and be done with it!:d
