WHICH WAY DOO YOU TRAVEL TO GET TO GOLDEN, REVY, ETC.... WHEN WE LEAVE EDMONTON, WE USUALLY GO THROUGH ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE OUT TO THE SASKATCHEWAN CROSSING AND THEN SOUTH TO LAKE LOUISE. THIS ROUTE USUALLY ENCOUNTERS POOR ROADS AND SNOW ETC..... SEEMS TO BE QUICKER, HOWEVER THAN HEADING SOUTH THROUGH CANMORE/BANFF. WHAT DOO YOU ALL THINK???:confused:

Summitric... if you would stop saying "DOO" instead of saying "do" you might attract smarter people to respond to your post ;) :D:D:D

From Whitecourt we "doo" travel to Rocky then west. The roads can be bad at times but the traffic seems to be a thinner. However sometimes it a little harder to find deisel fuel stations that are open, so I usally make sure I'm full at rocky and I "doo" carry extra fuel with me.:D

In the Winter I prefer the more popular Roads in case of trouble!

On our trip to Golden we were the only ones on the road. It was a bit freaky because we were pushing snow all the way, however I look at it this way, we are all have backpacks with gear to spend the night in the woods, worst case is we do the same in the truck.

Car accidents with injuries would be my concern,Heck if we ran out of gas I would just unload and go sleddin.LOL!

Going rocky is 25 KM longer but in winter it has no traffic so you can step it up making a shorter trip.

We always go canmore. how long does it take you to revy? never takes us more than 7.5 hours from sherwood park. alot more divided highway going canmore.

Maybe ask the question a little different....at what speed are you comparing times???

We don't go to crazy 10-15kms over speed limit, only stop once though. have done it in just over 6 hrs. a couple times. a little more than 10-15 over though.

aaahahahaha... that's why i said both roads! you guys are just too funny aren't you?
our first trip we took the rocky way, but the roads were covered in ice. i don't believe that they put salt or sand down, so the entire time on that road you though you were going to die a horrible death.
now, we go the alternate route, and the only troubles are passing through the park.
