Which Moutain area

Thinkin of heading to Whistler. What is the Mountain Range ? What's out there? Title should be" Mountain"

Is it the Coastal Range? I don't know, just guessing.

It is absolutely huge. My wife and I went out a couple years ago and did a stint with Chris Brown. The glacier is awesome and very thought provoking. I would recommend a guide as there is lots of chit a person can get into and with no or few land marks (like no trees), you would be in trouble if the weather came in. Crevasses would be my biggest fear and a good guide could be a life saver. So much riding and besides the glacier, there is great tree riding. Ray Mason, a member on the forum, would be a great choice. Chris Brown's riding clinic would also be great.

In the picture on the glacier, there are two little black dots up there and those are sleds. Absolutely mind boggling how vast the glacier is.

Yep, coastal range. There are at least a dozen or more riding areas. The main ones which have a groomed track are (in order from Squamish) Brohm Ridge, Brandywine, Sproat, Cougar, Rutherford and Hurley. Here is a link that has a google earth overlay for some of them. . Lots of other areas that are accessible but you need someone who knows the area to show you around or you will spend your time riding a logging road. The Ice Cap is phenomenal, but best ridden on a blue bird day with no weather expected unless you are with someone who knows it well. Even then I have seen guys stuck in crevices that were just feet off the normal track so you have to keep your eyes open, and don't bomb over rises until you have checked them out. Hurley you can ride to Bralorne, about 70km one way. Lots of areas off of it as well, see the map. Watch that you stay out of the Cat ski operations tenure.

For breathtaking and huge area, pemberton (rutherford) on a blue bird day is something that you will never forget. I recommend to take the trip in late April or may for the best weather.
