The Honda and yamaha are so very close. They are both top of the line and you can get remote start for both.

Looking for a suitcase invertor generator 2000. Choice is between Yamaha and Honda. Both within a few $$ difference. Not interested in any of the offshore brands tried them already.

What would your choice be?? Thanks for the input

Honda hands down!

I bought a honda eu3000 a couple years ago, it runs every thing but it's heavy. It's about all I can do to throw it in the truck by myself. It's also too high so it won't fit under my Tonneau.

I then bought one of those Champion 2000's (the inverter style) from costco, We usually just take this one now, it's only 50lbs and fits under my tonneau, and for most camping trips it's all we need. I'm actually thinking of selling the Honda now. I know you said no chinese brand talk but I have had both, there's no question the honda is higher quality but at quite a price difference.

they seem to be hungry for valve springs. covered under warranty, but not anywhere close to "rivaling" honda or yamaha IMO....this is a 3200 Onan

That`s not good......Mine has been great.......so far !! The plastics ,sound fit and finish ,guauges are top notch.Have not heard of any valve spring issues, from other people that have them i have talked to. The yamaha`s are tough to beat i think..........But all three are great products......imo

might have been just a bad spring to begin with, it only had 55 hours on it when that happened.

How are you fellas linking the 2 2000 honda's together? My interpretation was that this was an option on american only units, because my canadian version is missing the plug to join the two. Something to do with CSA standards.

The wire pullers on site can clarify but if I remember correctly from when I bought, the combined availible amperage needs a twist lock plug.

No...that one is an RV mounted unit like under my rig....3600 or 3800. Broken springs are pretty rare....I've had 3 of the 3800/4000 Onans and they've been bulletproof.

We have the Honda 2000.....love this little gennie! Runs everything in our trailer, even the air conditioning. It's nice and quiet and runs forever on a tank of fuel. Oh! And it is super easy to start! Honda has my vote hands down!

I have had a 3500 Kipor inverter for 2 years, 750 bucks from some guy going out of business cause they are "junk". I had it mounted in my service truck, use it for camping quiet, electric star,t has never skipped a beat.

I think the yamaha 2000 is built better than honda. My honda 2000 will not even put out as much power as a coleman 1850 ... it is quite though.

I just picked up a honda 2000 as well and was woundering if it would run the A/C?? just a bit once and a while lol..... how big is ur A/C? it seems the newer A/C units have that lower voltage on start up? its hard to find information as I havent had a chance to bring the trailer home and play with everything.

but sounds like the honda 2000 will just do it by reading all the required voltage.

Honda is the worlds biggest engine manufacturer they know what they are doing when ya make 14 million engines per year hahaha leave the keyboards for the yamaha's lol just bugging
