You guys are sure confident in plastic clips and stitching.

This thread seams like your just searching for validation and you have your mind made up already. Only 2 zippers stopping you from getting your beacon from its intended location.

Yep, front pocket is a stupid place for your
Beacon to be.

I used to wear mine with the sling and cover. It was under my avy vest under my onesie. To be able to wear it where it was comfortable, strap not dig in and rash ones neck raw.
Quick Access required drop of vest to get out and use it.
Since changed to new bca vest. Made a tether and it goes inside the pocket in a pocket. Well protected and that’s all that in that side in beacon. So pocket stays shut all day. I’m perfectly fine with it there and provides easy access to use should a guy have to.
If it comes out of there and is damaged to where it doesn’t work. I won’t be working anymore either

That is ridiculous train of thought. I have broke beacons on my chest without even being in an avalanche.

They are supposed to be on your side for a reason.

Nothing would be sadder to have your buddy die because his beacon was damage in a slide and you couldn't find him. You wear your beacon on your abdomen as that is the spot where it would be most likely to survive getting sifted through trees or other stuff.

I have mine tethered into the radio pocket (the high one on the left side) of the highmark vest. I do not want to take my vest off to get to my transceiver not to mention sometimes the buckles freeze up and you could easily lose a couple of minutes getting it open. I don't take my vest off to get my shovel or probe out either. Have a buddy do it, it's quicker and safer as recommended by my avalanche instructor of choice and other CAA level 1's I deal with regularly.

I knew some guys wouldn’t agree with my thought. That’s fine
The pocket is somewhat off to the side and low on the bca vest.
I am confident where it is that I won’t be damaging it. Do you check of it daily or if you crash. Be responsible and look out for yourself with your safety gear.

I keep my beacon in the left front pocket of the snowpulse bag I just bought this year. Thought it was a bad place to be for damage but I never thought to run it off to the side. Will try that this weekend. I like having that pocket for goggle wipes as well
