We are heading up from Fernie to Golden tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
We want to do a ride but won't be to the Golden area until about noon.

Since we are coming to Golden from the south we would like to find an area to ride for a 1/2 day that doesn't have a long drive off the highway or a long trail ride to the sled area.

Any advice or suggestions?

If you're coming up through Radium then I'd say go to Silent Pass. The turn off for it is in Parsons. You can stage pretty far up this year. Otherwise drive through Golden and head to Quartz. Goreman can get pretty slidey this time of year.

Thanks. Are there places to turn a 24' trailer around up the Silent Pass road?

If you wanna get a parking spot at noon. Silent pass isn't your best bet. It's tight by then ESP if people block the turn around areas
