Same as Maxwell . Wired right to batterie .
In the past I wired to high beams but these new trucks can be a problem sometimes.

I've hooked up a couple for buddy's, if the light bar comes with a harness that includes relay than like said above go off the battery or if the light bar has no harness like the ones I hooked up than I got a inline fuse and relay hooked up to a separate switch.

Auxiliary lights should always be switched, relayed and fused on their own dedicated circuit. Most reputable light manufacturers have harnesses available that are specific to their plugs etc...

Probably is. But I'm one of those guys that actually have a separate switch for my light bar on high beam. I only turn it on when needed. Never on when there is on coming traffic. Any aux light is illegal on public roads if not covered. So the way I wire it would not matter.

A great deal of newer trucks run their daytime running lights off of the high beam circuit which is why using the high beam as the switched power source for auxiliary lights no good. It is a sure fired way to grenade an expensive light as well.
