I tried to ride a 9500 plus Blizzard with chopped running boards " to raise them " and a Everest track & skid under it in northern BC first mountain sled

the fastest thing in the parking lot and the faster you went the farther away from the parking lot you were { STUCK } LOL

This is just too cool. The Motoski lineup was Sonic (340 free air rotary valve), Super sonic (340 liquid RV), Ultra Sonic (440 liquid RV) in the lightweight chassis. As for the Cross Country it came in 2 versions, one had a detuned 340 liquid rated at 48 HP to meet racing rules and the others had what ever you wanted to stuff into it. Very rare and I suspect the pictures on this thread are one of the factory chassis with whatever in it. They used to sell the chassis after the season but without a motor. Secrets you know.

Amazing how much fun could be had before GPS, Digital Cameras, Camcorders, CD's, DVD's, Spot locators, Cell phones, iPhones, iPads, Fuel Injection, Electronic carbs, altitude compensation, digital power valves, and so on...

And a few more. I am realizing that maybe I need to start organizing these a little and set up a web album for them. Enjoy!

Holy crap man you need your own thread to show off those sweet pics!!! My brother and i grew up riding my dads 1980 Everest 500 and grandpa's 79 Everest 444 and futura 440. To see those relics in the hills when they were king is awesome!! I first went to Mcbride in 2003 on a 96 XC 600 triple with a 136x2 Camo track.

The first time in the mountains for me was doubling my wife up onto Mnt Bickford in the Pine Pass in 1983. We rode a 79 Arctic Cat Jag 3400FC. I still have one of the original cans of Arctic Cat Spirit Injection Oil that came with the sled when I bought it. Looks kinda cool sitting there on the shelf.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Nice! A little hint on that Mirage - it wasn't a 300 anymore... somehow a 503 found a home in it, LOL. That sled is kicking around somewhere still. Can't remember which relative has it.

I did the same, a friend of my dad's wrecked his 5500 blizzard and he gave us the 503 that was in it. seemed to break a lot of skis after putting it in. that was my "snocross" sled...lol.
