I actually don't believe this to be a "Muslim" thing. It seems to me to be more of a middle east thing. They have been in conflict down there since the beginning of time. In fact, conflict in that area hasn't always between seperate groups or areas but often just between neighboring clans. It so happens that the population in that region is predominantly Islamic but I don't believe that to be the reason for the conflict down there, not do I believe it to be the motivation behind Islam extremism. I believe they are culturally disposed to conflict, which for most of history has been largely contained between themselves. Now, certain groups we call extremists have turned their heavily ingrained disposition for conflict towards us and are either cowardly hiding behind Isalm beliefs or simply no longer even know that their fight his nothing to do with religion.

My fear is the danger that this evolves into a much bigger, much more serious religious war. My frustration is that the non-extremist Islamic population seems to be doing very little to stop the extremist groups before they get out of control. I'm not sure exactly why that is but I suspect it has a lot to do with the American's mettlesome policies. I'm wondering if the biggest issue is simply that they view this as a war between extremists and the US. ...and the enemy of my "enemy" is my friend?

You don't believe it's a Muslim thing eh? You can smear all the lipstick onto a pig you want but, it's still a pig. The ultra politically correct NDP, Librels and the main stream media have been dressing up this pig for a very long time. They have been trying to convince Canadians that Islam is a religion of peace. Their bible the Quran tells them to be-head the non believers. The Quran does not request this to just extremist, it is expected of all Muslims. Should you be captured and have a knife put to your throat and asked if you are a believer in Islam you will not get away with saying yes. Muslims are required to commit to memory several passages from the Quran. When you can not recite any passages you will lose you head and your life. Doesn't sound much like a religion of peace to me.

I am not sure why there is a difference from one region to the other but I have travelled a fair bit to India for work and approx 15% of the Indian population is Muslim. I have never meet a Muslim person in India that believes or even practices the kind of extreme religion seen in the middle east. IMO these people are peaceful, hard working and respectful of other religions and beliefs. I have even managed to convince them and have a beer with me :). Yes they have some different beliefs than my own personal ones but not to the point where I consider them all "pigs with lipstick". Just my 2cents worth.

Wow Mitch. You are a Liberal....right to the federal level. Tell me how Trudeau is gonna save the world? This should be good!:hungry:

How do you plan to save the world? I've yet to see you offer any sort of solution besides pointless one liners.

A whole lot of narrow minded men bantering back and fourth. If anyone disagrees or offers an alternative, they are wrong, they are a liberal pansy that "wants to hug it out" and "doesn't give spankings in their household"(like wtf btw, I don't know how that got.. but whatever).

You state their religion is beheading any innocent individual that doesn't follow the same beliefs. However, as the world evolves and changes these beliefs within these religions do adjust. If you are Islamic, doesn't mean you agree with beheading innocent people. Same as if you are Christian, you don't necessarily abide by everything that was written in the bible.

I would hate to see this turn out like 9/11 all over again. An invasion of Iraq, complete waste of resources with nothing really gained. Acting on impulse is when you make poor decisions, you have to create a plan of action and come up with a solution. I think we need to step up our security, there is no excuse for a man being able to enter our House of Commons with a rifle. Pay attention more to whats happening within our own country. They have to be able to do a search through his electronic devices, figure out where he's getting his information, who he's been contacting and eliminate those fellow comrades. Tighten up our boarders, investigate a bit further on who's coming in, obviously we'll be more focused on who are migrating from
certain countries. To go fight on their soil, we're only going to lose dollars and soldiers.

The KKK isn't or shouldn't be a representative of Christianity -- extremists shouldn't represent Muslims.

Extremists from any culture are the ones creating issues. Doesn't matter if it's religious or political. Time has shown again and again That were always going to have these people to deal with. What I don't agree with is people acting out on there own vandalizing mosk's or what ever else. This is exactly what isis wants. The world to hate Muslims and Muslims to hate the world. They want to create tension so everything boils over. And people acting out on there own IS NOT the way to deal with this. Anyone doing so is only part of the problem.

What does this have to do with Trudeau? I have always said that ISIS should be dealt with by middle Eastern countries. The vast majority of people that they have killed are Muslims, Time for the Saudis, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Jordan step up, they are the ones that are going to be taken over next. Funny that You conservatives are so sure that dropping bombs on people and destroying their cities and homes is so much more useful than helping out the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians that have been displaced by the fighting. The US, Britain, Australia, France and whatever other countries are fully capable (well, maybe not France so much) of bombing the **** out of Iraq and Syria without us, here are other roles to play besides killing people.

Ohhh , i get it.....Like when Pakistan took care of Bin Laden for all of us........Glad you were not around to advise us on the second world war...........
Not to mention i find this quite offensive for the vets that fought for freedom and our way of life. They did not fight cause they wanted too............THEY KNEW THEY HAD TOO............Thankfully.

So to the folks here who are more for the humanitarian effort, I have a question-

Does it not make more sense to stop the fighting that is making the refugees??

Even if it doesn't make sense too, then does it at least make sense to stop the spread of disease before it fully engulfs the rest of the body??

The middle east has been killing each other since the beginning of time. They want nothing to do with peace. It' hasn't been a major concern for the rest of the world until recently, when the violence spilled over the pond. I've made a point to not to get too worked up about things, until they effect me, or my family negatively.

And these extremists, who by all accounts are muslim, are really starting to piss me off.

Yup... Living in that part of the world they are exposed to violence almost 24/7, and even if there's a cease fire , it doesn't mean much anymore.... It's a way of life, and most of them have been brought up with this hatred. For the most part, destroying each other in the Middle East isn't much, but like u said, when it came across the pond, it's now our concern too!

PLOL, Narrow minded are they. And good for you, more talk, tighten up the borders, investigate, focus on who is migrating, sset up our security search his phone records. OMG, no ones ever thought of that or tried toimplement any of those ideas. And if you do identify the dangerous ones, what are you gonna do with them, take them court for possible deportation, if a court upholds that decision after 2 years of trial. That'll certainly set those crazies back on their heels, they'll know not to mess with us anymore. Get a grip, you're not negotiating with your pissed off neighbor cause your dog crapped on his lawn.
Me, if I have to depend on the soldiers to retain our Canadian heritage and the advantages we are privileged with , or, you and your group who are gonna create another plan of action and come up with a solution ( that doesn't involve fighting or spending) by having meetings and talking ( hugging it out) , It's a no brainer.
Not everyone can be reasoned with rationally, sometimes it's necessary to cause the point to be remembered vividly, illustrate consequences for actions.
Talking , speech makers and idealistic peace for all mentality, man i hope we ever have to depend on these type of people cause we'd be so screwed.

All your solutions are what Harper wants to implement but the Ultimate Frisby coach and his sidecar 7 mortgage Mulcair fight him at every turn. If you think the answer to national security is Trudeau then pull him out of the local mosque and vote him in.I'll be looking at property in the US before he can fawk up the country anymore than his father already did.

Thinking about your post more, I can't quite decide if it's the crazies that have the rest of us mad, or the hypocrites like you who basically defend them.
Snopro has offered a solution that has been provin to work time and time again in history.

In every conflict since the beginning of time, never ever has taking the high road, or turning the other cheek defeated the enemy. The Victor has always been the one who not just persevered, but who was willing to go the distance. And by distance, I mean the extra mile. To make it obvious why not to challenge the victor any longer. To take away any doubt that the victor will stop at nothing to win.

That is what we are seeing today. When you have an enemy who is sacrificing there life, and literally using there body as a disposable weapon for there cause, you really don't have many options to defeating them.
You can't drop bombs out of one plane, followed by and bandaids out of the other. Unless of course, defeating an enemy is not your end game.

The war in Iraq/Middleast that most talk about is different then the fight against Islam, and muslim extremism. Do not confuse the two.

I could go on and on, but at the end of the day, all you want to do is soak up the blood. The rest of us are more concerned with and would rather stop the infection, and stitch up the wound. Scars are one thing, but no-one likes a festoring sore.

Good luck in the future with monitoring your fence. Me, I'm just going to shoot who climbs over the no trespassing sign.

I have to side with snopro on this. As for the rest of my rant....best not to publish.

to be honest NO world leader regardless of what political party you stand for has a real solution to the middle east. It is interesting that I spoke with my Indian counter part yesterday and I asked him why the peaceful muslims don't stand up against the extremist. He explained to me that in their view the issue with ISIS and other extremist is not a religious driven issue but a political one. World powers are feeding money into the region supporting there preferences just to keep the region unstable. In other words, they are using the fanatics to create this instability and putting more gas onto the fire sort to speak of. The Russians/Chinese/Americans/EU all have their hands into it according to his opinion. Anyway, if the west/other Arab nations are middling by providing arms/cash to ISIS then it is like chasing your tail. Time to look at Canada's supply of oil for US/Canada and leave the region to fight it all out on their own.
