i took my '03 F-350 into the dealer to the airbag checked out, when i went to pick up the truck it didnt sound quite right, then i got on to the street and it just wouldnt go, it wanted to run, it was all it could do to run but it was stuggling. so i turned around to go back to the dealer but when i got on the back road it stalled, go a ride back to the dealer and they thought maybe the fuel fillter was plugged, so i changed that, started it, ran for about 1 minute then stalled again.

any ideas what it might be?

Surely if you get it back to the dealer they can plug in there diagnostic computer to it and see whats wrong.

Could be # of different problems - would be best to scan test and look at engine data - some injection rail plugs o-rings can fail causing low pressure to injectors - could be fuel pump failure - kinda weird that it was just at dealer and now wont run .

we just had an 05 ford do the exact same thing and found the fuel line to the filter was freezing off. it would get enough fuel to start and run then suck the filter dry and die. just an idea.

There's your problem. warm shop/back out in cold. probably a bubble of water in fuel line from tank, little wind chill......

thats exactly what happened to us. we had been changing out the heater motor in the shop. backed it out and left it running for about 5 or 10 minutes went to drive and she died in about 300 yards,.

:bs::agree::lemon:Ford should have kept using the 7.3 Diesel . All the problems I've seen with the 6.0 Powerstrokers over the years is laughable ! The 6.4 wasn't much better it just got worse on fuel consumption . I think the new 6.7 which Ford is building may be an improvement but time will tell .I've allready seen a few electronics and turbo issues . We see more 6.0l fords than any other diesel pickup come trough our shop doors . Main issues are EGR cooler /Headgaskets / Injectors and sensors . We have done a couple Cummins conversions and they work great ! It's what Ford should have done in the first place . Conversions are pricey unless you can do the work yourself . Check out Destroked.com .
