In them hills.
Do you see the date at the bottom left of the graph? That is the ringer preproduction 800 Ctec. The production ones seem to be all in the 151 range. Add timing and fuel tweeks 155hp. Add pipe and timing, fuel get 160ish. In one write-up Jim speculates what Cat may have done after testing a modified factory pipe that, with timing and fuel tweeks, is almost identical to the preproduction unit. It is not fair to Dynotech to post what is supposed to be subscriber information. I have been following Dynotech for 25+ years. Jim goes to great lengths to be accurate and clear on what is going on.

Cat obviously has the chassis dialed.
Here is the cat on Bikeman's dyno.

I did specify the weights. Read again.

It was just a simple comment. Holy fawk you guys are sensitive.

Lol.

Not a big deal just your first post didn’t and it’s not at all the same slp pipe still runs on 10-64 or you can play with spring pressure and possibly get 10-66 but not in deep snow

You think your going to up more then 6g of weight with roughly 8hp ? You need to do some research on how a cvt works and how much hp your pipe gains 9hp at low elevation max. Your pipe doesn’t even require a fuel map change at elevation you probably gained 4-6hp that’s not even enough to go from 10-64 to 10-66

I'm not a huge fan of the SLP pipe. For one thing you have to run it at 8300-8400rpm which is vibration city for your primary clutch. The harmonic at 8400rpm will probably cause your exhaust to fall right apart and the reeds don't seem to like it much either. It does add a bit of power and I think it runs better on the 16 map than the 17 map. It will be nice to run the 2019 850 bone stock.

Keep going. It’s entertaining to see someone get so but hurt over absolutely nothing.

Yeah well you don’t like paint on your tunnel because it adds weight. So.......

I run my turbos both at 8350 and my buddy jaws at 8450 and I haven’t noticed any extra vibration. The jaws at 8450 vs a stocker pipe at 8300 I did the same lines back to back las trips 3 feet of snow and the sled at 8450 was a noticeable difference the sled with the extra Rpm didn’t fade like the stocker. I thought I almost had to turn out on the stock at one point and the other didn’t even consider it

Not butt hurt at all it’s just funny what you think of your magical slp pipe. I’d never run a 800 with out boost personality the engine is boring NA and power out way to fast

Would have been nice if each dealer would have gotten at least 1 2019 machine. I might have snow checked a new poopy with the 4yr warranty but I like to see what I am buying first.

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Toss up performance wise between Cat and Poo.
Poo has more power and is light and nimble. Cat has Alpha that is gonna shed at least 5-10lbs of wet snow weight in the the suspension. Poo has better clutching but not the best.
All in all, performance wise I think Cat takes the win but neck and neck with Poo.
Doo-dead last reliability wise and way, way behind Yamaha in thst regard.

Don’t open the side panels and it looks the same as a current Axys with narrow front end.

I see you can only snowcheck the standard RMK with the 600. You have to go to the pro for the 850 and narrow front end,.. or the sks 850 with the wider front end.

The verdict isn't really out yet on the reliability (or performance) of the 850 polaris. Could turn out as bad or worse that the SkiDoo.
Or maybe it will turn out to be the best sled they have ever built? Kind of a crap shoot TBH

Time will tell.
