mine was a franken-doo. got a scandic tunnel and hood and put more from a older sled in it. and risers still have it today. rolled it down many hills got ran over by it twice was the lightest sled i have rode on guy on a 800 was impressed i broke the trail in that day and i was doubling.
79 Elan 250, Dad brought it home one da and asked my sisters and I if we would like to use it...he never saw it or us that winter. A couple years ago I got a 82 Blizzard 9500 for a bottle of Rye, had to replace the hoses and ran it all day, next day no start....Still have both, and keep thinking, I might get around to getting them running, the kids are old enough for the 250, and I hat pushing that 82 around in the shed.
Mine was a '71 Elan which I still own and run every winter. Now my boys run it like I did as a kid. It has run every season without any problems other than rebuilding the tollotson carb every five years or so. Parking it beside my 08 XP sure puts things in perspective where this sport has changed. Started Doo, remained Doo. Cheers
Started out on a kitty cat not sure of the year but i was 3, then moved up to a 71 motoski single cyl won alot of youngest rider and oldest machine trophies at all the rallies we went to, then moved up to a john deere 600, then to a JDX 440 with a 440 out of a mercury in it and cleated track awesome sled till I melted it down, then started riding 79 blizzard 5500. Plans for the JDX are to put a 440 kawi into it should be fun.
My dad rebuilt the motoski, 600, jdx as well as numerous other sleds
His project now is a 70 something scorpion which he rebuilt a 440 suzuki out of a panther for it.
His collection includes a snow cruiser 67 there abouts, and a ski-roule 74 or so
78 jdx6 with a 340 kawi,
