Let say you were renting a duplex type of place and something came up that you could get a really good deal to move into a condo. Now where you are now has a lot of people (typical subdivision), but the condo building itself has 120 condos and the entire complex has about 560 condos in total, with a ton of houses around it.

I have never been a fan of condo type places, but for the money I have to consider it. It has heated underground parking which is nice, but I was really surprised how small the parking spots were. Kind of a pain for parking the truck, but it does fit. Problem is the condo isn't full yet. I had plenty of open stalls to use while parking.

Anybody have any opinions?

My old place had the same thing, I had to get the stall right infront of the garage door and go down the ramp, turn left than back into the stall, backed in until truck hit the cage behind me. Any other way and I couldnt get out unless I backed all the way up the ramp.

Storage cage was at back of stall so I would have to put truck outside if I needed a wrench or screwdriver.

With the small complex I was in everyone had one assigned stall and most people had two cars so visitors would always have to park really far away than walk.

Overall it wasnt all that bad of a place, Im glad i was on the top floor, I heard about people selling and moving out because neighbors above would walk around and people below could tell exactly where they were walking. Walls on sides were incredibly soundproof though.

Personally not a fan of condos. I've sold many and I manage some too...always one thing or another going on with the residents and the condo boards. Make sure you check the condo bylaws so you know what you can and can't do cuz they pertain to renters too. They are not good for noise and really close neighbours, so they aren't for everyone but they do have their good points. Check the soundproofing, some are horrible and either you'll be pizzing off your neighbours or vice versa. I've been in some new units that if you turn on the hood fan over the stove, the yummy smell of bacon comes out the fan of the unit next door

If your just renting stay where you are. If you have an opportunity to purchase go for the purchase.
