Not worth it in my opinion! It's less then $200 shipped to your door. Bye the time you take it off pay to send it in and wait for it to be fix and pay to get it sent back you could have a brand new one

I have. Bought one and it lasted 30 seconds. Stripped gears. Sent it back, they sent me a new one but I refused to re-install it. Bought a warn. They were good about the whole deal though.

Good to hear they replaced it. My buddies 4500 stripped out on the first pull.
He tried calling a few times yesterday and couldn't get through. He's gonna try again on mon.

I'm of the opinion now that a better sealed winch is what i need. The runva 4500 i have pulls hard, albeit a little slow, I didn't grease the cable and thus broke it. Now it won't freewheel likely due to dirt inside. Time to pull it and clean it. SxS need a good winch, Likely any name brand will work well , with a little maintenance, Lack of is more than likely the cause of everyones trouble and some may be better sealed.
Have been watching a few riders using there winch in the skeg and can say the majority have no idea on there use or how dangerous they can be

I got a 5000lb Viper from Moto Alliance, $320 to my door with 1/4" synthetic rope. Working good, pulls like hell.

I have been running a viper elite winch... 3000 lb since 2010 now... great winch... IT IS waterproof... and shipping is like 80 bucks to you door in one week or less... Moto Allaince has GREAT customer service... and fast service too... I will never run a warn again... too expensive and only water resistant.. not water proof....tbe viper line is moto alliance own winch
line.... they make them and service them

No I think it's about normal, bigger diameter rope takes up more room.

i have a wide spool #4500 lb runva on the ranger and put 60 ft of 1/4 inch amsteel on the drum, may have been able to put more on. likely would have been better with the 40 ft rope as it will pull harder sooner than the wide spool, and then just run a tow strap or more amsteel rope for longer pulls. so far i have had no problem pulling, but have found a few spots were a 3500 lb winch stalled. i previously had 50 ft of wire rope on, but broke it, argghh
