Thermostat seems fine now. Good flow and pressure rules out the impeller. I could not diagnose the issue so I took it in to a shop. They could not get it to overheat again. Go figure.
Perhaps there was a bubble and I got it out after all? The shop said that sometimes the heat exchanger gets totally iced up and it will not cool properly, so they suggested that was the problem. That seems weird to me, as you would think ice is the coldest thing you could have on the heat exchanger and it would just melt off.
I will be running it over the Christmas break, so well see how much cursing I'll be doing over the holidays.
ill be up over the holidays bring it by my garage if you have an issue.
the 880 did a strange thing i have never seen before on sunday. rode it ALL day saturday no issues.
took the sleds out of the garage on sunday morning and loaded them on the trailer. got fuel food etc... so the machine was outside in -20 for about 30 minuts before we got to the parking lot and ran it.
about 30 seconds up the trail it overheated big time. both coolers were ICE cold.
took it back to the garage lifted the front end up put a heat gun too the rear cooler and topped up the coolant and it was good to go for the rest of the day...
either frozen somewhere in the cooler or stuck thermostat....strange..
