What to use for Sealant

I would use a plumber version. Something that may resist the chemicals.

I would use plumber's putty. Easy cleanup, you'll be hard pressed to find silicone rated for submersion

I would say plumbers putty too, but I have never tried silicone for hot tubes must work ok
