WHAT SHOULD MY RPMs be at

My 08 summit xp is reving around 9000 when almost full throttle. is this to high? Should i adjust my clutching? Any answers.

I just bought this sled and the clutch is set up for the Mountains. Not sure what i have to do to adjust it for riding around Edmonton area.

dial the clickers down on the primary clutch , 200 rpm per # ,your probaqbly on 5 now , should run on # 2

their is 3 bolts on your primary , back the nuts off enough to push the bolt back to clear housing , rotate bolt so the line on bolt lines up with # , make sure you adjust so all bolts line up to same #, #2 for around here should be good place to start

Your limiter should be kicking at 8500. Does it have any mods done like RK tek head or anything. I have Rktek's 800r drop in and they reprogrammed the ecm to limit at 9200. But my stock limit was 8500. If you have no mods, then I would say the previous fellow was correct, your tach is toast.:beer:

Are you talking about just flat land trail riding?

You will easily be bouncing off the rev limiter on trails...

When climbing 8200 MAX....anything over 8200 and these sleds drop off quickly....8000-8100 is good.

Read what Dynacorkle posted. If your engine has the ECM modified, then the rev limiter might be raised....otherwise it's very unlikely to ever see 9000 rpm. The motor also won't last long at those RPM's....
