Ok guy's, i know this is kinda weird but i will be buying a new sled. What, i really don't know yet. So, help me out, sell me on what you think is worthy.
I'm asking cause i would like to hear from you guys what your liking and not liking about your sled decision.

Ok, i have owned many Cats and Yamaha's, some Doo's, never a Polaris though.
So Polaris guy's, can you sell me on a Polaris?
As for Doo, i know there seemingly issues with the G4, is it internet hype or real? Don't know, thus why i suggested that those having issues, list them and contact the rep. Hopefully if real it is resolved.
In the mean time, sell me on the G4. I know some guys would like me back on a Doo, cause they told me so. And NO i'm not a Doo HATER. A critic YES, all brands and not Doo exclusive.
So sell me on a Doo, why should Lund buy a Doo?
Same goes for Cat guys and Yamaha.
Should i stick with the 4stroke Sidewinder?
Should i go with a Cat?
Help me out here.

History: without going into details, avid back country rider with many many hour logged in.
Sled requirements: reliability, power, 162-174 track. Strong enough to handle weight for SAR's usage.
Rider: 6"1, 250+lbs geared up.
Ride preference: high alpine.

Put in your 2cents, no post is wrong but its your opinion and i respect that.

Motor reliability goes to cat for sure, the lay down system has been proven since 2003. Not much has changed in it except the power.

i haven't heard anything bad about the 3" powerclaw either.

Tunnek strength for your gear, might be worth it to get a stiffener. The 17's they made the tunnel lighter.

Cant go wrong for out of the box performance of a cat. And heard nothing but good things about the mountain cat. If bopper reads this thread he can say how much he likes his mountain cat.

For the extra couple grand, the known reliability, and knowing how many years you should be able to keep the 4s my choice would be the SW.

That said however I would wait until later in the season once all the new machines have had more time on the snow and doo has some time to redeem themselves and address their issues. They could have a great 2s machine and be a contender for your list if they work out the issues with belts and prove their new power plant is still as reliable as the old etec.

Cat is what it is. Solid if you can get over the steering but I feel the SW is still a better choice.

Poo is poo IMO. For bigger guys, I just don't see them lasting.

Or the new King Cat, Sidewinder motor just paired with team clutches, also a good choice, if you can stand the orange lol. For SAR use, the polaris just wont handle it IMO, to weak due to "flickability" lol, they are just built to light, and working hard on a rescue with their limited cooling capacity is a recipe for over heating, im guessing some rescues are at lower elevations or quickest way out with injured people is maybe through not the most ideal avenues for snow conditions. Sounds like you have a soft spot for 4s so Im thinking either King Cat or Sidewinder will be your choice. As for the Doo........ you seem like a nice level headed guy, why ruin that with a doo, every person I know who has bought a doo has turned into a blinded dumb ass, Doo laid is a terrible drink that makes owners blind to the fact that the other manufacturers still make a product just as good or better

Sell you on skidoo... well I am at 8000km now and will be 10000 at the end of a season. Crank runout is still in spec and compression is still at stock. Haven't done a top end. Just annual maintenance. That alone sells me into buying another despite the quirks that every sled has. For me quality means a lot and low maintenance, pretty tough to top that.

Just buy a sidewinder and throw a 174x 3.2 track under it and just laugh at everybody else while you blow by them. Done deal thread over.

"I see things really haven't changed much over the years at BRP. LOL
I haven't read this thread, only saw a couple of recent post's but now i'm curious of what else??
This fits right in with the "Game changer" thread, yep that changed the game alright...have fun boy's, hot clutches and belt's. That brings back memories of my BRP day's HAHAHAHA."

The above is a quote of yours .........................

Now you tell me why I should waste my time and tell you about the advantages of a new SkiDoo. Either you just come on here to stir the pot or you are set in your ways and are not open minded. IMO, it doesn't go both ways Mike.

What does your wife/girlfriend think you worthy of ? Woops ! Sorry ! Doo and Polaris are your best choices for 2 stroke and Yam 4 stroke. Perhaps dealer service should top the list here too.

The sidewinder uses yamaha clutches, if you have run a Turboed yamaha then you know the clutches are about the best OEM clutches built. Also choosing the sidewinder over the cat gives you yamaha electronics. JMO. If it's man made its junk so pick the junk you like best and go with it.

That might be impressive to a polaris guy, but your preaching to the choir with a cat guy, if you think for one second an 800 etec outlasts an 800 cat your drinking to much doolaid
